Hungaroring Grandstand and General Admission Guides

There are 18 different grandstands to choose from at the Hungaroring for the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix. The only ones that are covered are the ‘Hungaroring’ and the ‘Hungaroring Platinum’ stands along the main straight. The rest are completely exposed to the weather.

For a cheaper option you can go for General Admission tickets. These are more affordable and are some of the cheapest tickets on the whole F1 calendar. The General Admission viewing area, shown in green below, offers a variety of views but you need to get to the circuit incredibly early on race day to stand a chance of getting a good spot.

Alex’s top pick: If you want protection from the sun (or rain) then you need to sit in the Hungaroring or Hungaroring platinum stand, but these are the most expensive.

Personally, I think the best seats at the Hungarian Grand Prix are in the T1 / Pit Exit 1 / Pit Exit 2 grandstands at these have a view of the first couple of corners where you’re most likely to see some overtaking and some wheel-banging action on the firsst lap.

Hungarian GP tickets

I have consistenly used Viagogo for my Formula 1 tickets, and have always have a great experience with them. Because the Hungarian GP is so cheap (compared to the other races), the tickets officially sell out quickly. But there’s always lots for sale right up until the race weekend here.

They always have a great selection of 1, 2 or 3-day Hungarian Grand Prix tickets available, even when they’re sold out elsewhere. Plus you can usually find a bargain if you wait until nearer the race weekend, and they have a very good ‘FanProtect guarantee’ which means your money is safe – good for extra peace of mind!
