This is my guide to the Chicane 3 grandstand at the Hungaroring. This stand was recently renamed, it used to be called Super Bronze.

In this guide I’ll include my top tips for picking the best seats in this stand, and my thoughts on how it compares to the other grandstands. There’s a full seating plan showing row, section and seat numbers, plus videos of the views from different seats.

I’ve also included some info on how to bag cheaper tickets for this grandstand.

Hungaroring Chicane 3 grandstand location

The Chicane 3 grandstand is on the left hand side of the Hungaroring Formula 1 circuit, overlooking the Turn 6 / 7 chicane.

It’s directly behind the Chicane 1 grandstand but it’s higher up on a hill, so pretty much looks over the top of it. I say pretty much because sometimes the stands in front can block the view slightly – check out the videos lower down this page to see what I mean.

The grandstand is directly next to entrance gate two, but the main car parks and main fanzone are closer to Turn 14, so they’re both a little bit of a walk from here.

Use entrance gate 2 to access this stand, it’s right next to it.

Grandstand details

Cover

This grandstand has no roof, it’s completely exposed to the weather. Read my tips on what to wear to the Hungarian GP to dress approrpiately.

Seats

The seats are individual plastic chairs.

TV screens

There are two TV screens visible from this stand, but being so high up both feel quite far away. To read the timing and writing on the screens you either need a good zoom on your camera or a pair of binoculars!

Hungaroring Chicane 3 grandstand tickets

This is a popular place to sit at the Formula 1 in Hungary so tickets will often sell out fast. However if you still need some, I‘d recommend buying tickets through ViaGoGo instead.

They always have a big selection of tickets availble on their website right up until race day, even when they appear to be sold out elsewhere. And if you wait until the last minute you might be able to find them at a cheaper price. That’s what I have done before and I’ve managed to grab myself some bargains.

I buy all my F1 tickets on ViaGoGo and have done for the last few years. I used when I went to the Grand Prix at Silverstone, Zandvoort and Spa. I’ve always had a great experience, no issues, and I won’t hesitate to use them again.

For added peace of mind when I purchased my tickets, they have a very good ‘FanProtect’ guarantee which makes sure your tickets and money are always going to be safe and protected.

Hungaroring Chicane 3 grandstand seating plan

Below is the seating plan for the Chicane 3 grandstand at the Hungaroring:

As the seating plan shows the Chicane 3 grandstand is made up of 8 different sectors named A to H. Sector H is the closest to Turn 5 and Sector A is the furthest along the track, just past the Turn 6 apex of the chicane.

All sections of the grandstand have row 1 number lowest down at the front. The row numbers then increase the higher up / further back you go in the stand, up to row 17.

The seat number is a little odd. The sectors are accessed in pairs (A and B, C and D, E and F etc) via a walkway in the middle of the pair. When you then turn from the walkway in to your sector the seat numbers increase from 1 outwards in to the sector. The further from your walkway you are, the higher your seat number.

View

I’ve highlighted the parts of the Hungaroring F1 circuit visible from this stand in green in the image below:

Because this stand is high up on a hill, you get a wide vantage point that covers a lot of the track. You can see all of Turns 5, 6 and 7. You can also see across the track over to Turn 4, and you can follow the cars down to Turn 8 as well.

One thing to bear in mind with this stand is that even though its higher than the grandstand in front of it, when the people in that stand are on their feet, they can block your view of the track directly in front slightly.

As an example, this first video was filmed from Sector C on the first lap of the race when everyone is stood up. You can see the guys standing in the back row of the grandstand in front are blocking the view of the straight between Turns 5 and 6 slightly. But you can see all the way over to Turn 4, and can even follow the cars as they go through Turn 8 (where Perez crashed in qualifying in his Red Bull once):

However this video, also filmed from Sector C, shows the view is clearer when everyone’s sat down:

Best seats

I would go for higher rows in this stand to try and get a better vantage point looking over the grandstand in front. Then I’d go for sectors E, F, G or H to try and be a little closer to the TV screens.

Is this a good place to sit?

The high vantage point from this grandstand is great, except for when the people in the stand in front block your view. For that reason, I’d personally choose to sit in the higher rows of the Chicane 1 grandstand instead. I wouldn’t bother with Chicane 2 as I think that’s the worst option out of these three stands.

Will you see much overtaking at the point of the track? Probably not. But the chicane can result in car-to-car contact on the opening laps of the race. Plus this sequence of corners can see some accidents, as we saw with Tsunoda and Perez in 2024.

Read my guide on travelling to the Hungarian GP for tips on how to get to the track. If you’re driving, also have a read of my Hungaroring parking tips.
