Hungaroring Entrance Gates Map & Location – F1 Hungary

Alex Gassman
Hungaroring entrance gate

There are a number of different entrace gates at the Hungaroring. Which one you should use depends on where you will be sitting to view the race from, and how you plan on arriving at the circuit.

My tips on this page should hopefully help you decide which gates are the best ones to aim for when you travel to the Hungarian Grand Pirx.

Hungaroring Entrance Gates

There are six public entrance gates available to use at the Hungarian F1 race: 2, 3, 6, 7, 7a, 8. These are spread out around the circuit, as the map below shows:

Spectator Gate opening times

The spectator gates open at the following times for the Hungarian Grand Prix:

  • Friday – 7:30am
  • Saturday – 7:30am
  • Sunday – 7:30am

Which gate for which grandstand?

As you can see on the map above, the entrance gates are well spread out around the track. So it’s worthwhile aiming for the gate that is closest to your grandstand. If you don’t you could enter on one side of the circuit and have to walk for over 30 minutes to get to your seats. For example, to get to the T1 stand from Gate 2 is a 45 minute walk.

Here’s a list of all the grandstands and the entrance gate that is closest to each of them:

Getting there

My Hungaroring travel guide has full details on the different methods of getting to the Hungarian F1 circuit, and the best gates for some of those methods. But as a quick overview:

  • Taxis drop off at Gates 3 & 8, and collect at Gate 8
  • Shuttle buses from Kerepes train station drop off at Gate 3
  • Shuttle buses back to Kerepes and Gödöllő train stations leave from Gate 3
  • City Shuttle buses back to Budapest leave from outside Gate 8

There are lots of different parking options around the track. Check out my full guide to parking at the Hungarian GP for more info.
