Monza grandstand 34 Lesmo 1 esterna

This is my spectacting guide to grandstand 34 Lesmo 1 Esterna at the Monza Grand Prix circuit.

It’s a new grandstand this year so there’s not much information on it. However I’ve pulled together as much information as possible to help you decided whether or not you want to sit here.

Monza Grandstand 34 Lesmo 1 Esterna

Grandstand 34 at Monza is new this year. It’s called Lesmo 1 Esterna which means Lesmo 1 outside, which is exactly where it’s situated. Lesmo 1 (Turn 6) is a fast right hander that very rarely sees any overtaking and is usually single file for the F1 drivers. Unless you’re Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc.

This new grandstand will be on the left hand side of the circuit. Because there’s so many trees at this part of the track it’s likely it will be really close to the barrier. And because there’s already a slight clearing in those trees, it’s likely it will be slightly closer to the entry of Lesmo 1 than the exit.

The image below shows where this new grandstand will be:

This grandstand is literally right next to entrance gate D, so it’s very easily accessible from there. But if you get one of the shuttle buses to the track, they drop of near Gate G which is the other side of the circuit. So expect to walk for more than 50 minutes to get from G to this stand.

Unfortunately the F1 fanzone is also miles away, close to Turn 10. It’s probably a 40 mintue walk to get there.

Grandstand details

Cover

This grandstand will be uncovered, so you’ll be exposed to the Italian weather all day. Make sure you dress appropriately.

Seats

The seats will be bleacher style bench seats. If you want a back rest you’ll need the back row where you can lean against the fence.

TV screens

There will be one TV screen visible from here, and it’s likely it will be on the opposite side of the track inside Turn 6.

Monza Grandstand Tickets

Most grandstand tickets sell out fast for Monza. If that’s the case and you think you’ve missed out then don’t worry as you can buy tickets through ViaGoGo instead. They will have a good selection of tickets available right up until the Grand Prix itself.

I’ve used Viagogo to buy my Formula 1 tickets a number of times times over the last few seasons. I used them to buy my tickets to the British, Belgian and Dutch GP. I’ve always had a great experience using them and will be happy to do so again the next time I go to an F1 race.

They also have a great ‘FanProtect Guarantee’ which protects your money and your tickets. That’s always given me extra peace of mind when buying.

View

The map below shows the parts of Monza you’ll be able to see from this stand in green:

Based on where the grandstand is likely to be situated, it’s more likely that you’ll be able to see back down towards the exit of Turn 5 than up to Turn 7.

Sitting in a lower row nearer the front will give you a slightly narrower view of the entry and exit of Turn 6. Sitting higher up further back should allow you to see a little more.

It’s hard to say much more than that at the moment, but if you did end up sitting here, drop a comment below to let me know what it was like.

Best seats

It’s hard to say exactly, but I would hedge my bets and go for the higher rows to get a wider vantage point.

Is this a good place to sit?

At the moment the view from this stand is a bit of an unknown, so I’d avoid it for this year if possible.

It’s also a long way from any of the other attractions at the circuit for the F1 weekend, so if you do end up sitting here be prepared to get your steps in!
