This is my spectacting guide to grandstand 11 Serraglio at the Monza Italian Formula 1 circuit.

Monza Grandstand 11 Serraglio location
Grandstand 11 Serraglio is on the right hand side of the Monza circuit, which is the inside of the track, between Turn 7 and Turn 8. It’s on a very slight left-hand kink which is flat out and is called Curva del Serraglio.
The name Serraglio comes from the Porta del Serraglio building that this grandstand sits right next to. It’s an old menagerie where certain species of deer were kept.
This grandstand is closest to entrance gate D but it’s still a good 20 minute walk away. The shuttle bus services to the circuit drop off near Gate G which is on the other side of the track. So expect to walk for over 45 minutes to get from gate G to this grandstand.
Unfortunately the F1 fanzone is also quite a long way away, close to Turn 10. It’s roughly a 30 minute walk to get there from this stand.
Grandstand details
Cover
This grandstand does not have a cover. Make sure you dress apppropriately for the hot Italian weather as you’ll be in the sun all day.
Seats
The seats are individual plastic chairs.
TV screens
There’s one TV Screen visible from this stand on the other side of the circuit:
Monza Grandstand 11 Tickets
This is one of the cheaper grandstands at Monza for the Italian Grand Prix, so it can sell out fast. If that’s the case don’t worry as you can still buy tickets through ViaGoGo. They will have a good ticket selection available to purchase right up to the Grand Prix itself.
I’ve used Viagogo for my Formula 1 tickets a number of times times over the last few years – I’ve used them to purchase my tickets to the British, Belgian, Dutch and Las Vegas GP. I’ve always had a great experience buying with them and have no hesitations about using them for tickets next time I go to an F1 race.
They also have a ‘FanProtect Guarantee’ which will protect your money and your tickets, and that has always given me even more peace of mind when buying.
Monza Grandstand 11 Serraglio seating plan
Below is the seating chart for Grandstand 11 Serraglio at Monza. It is a big image file which is actually a bit too big to put on this page. So instead, if you enter your info in to the boxes below and press the send button it’ll be sent straight to your inbox.
Grandstand 11 has Row A at the front and Row K higher up at the back.
Seat numbers being at 1 on the left of the stand (if you’re on the circuit looking up at the seats) and increase as you move to the right.
View
This image shows the parts of the circuit visible from this grandstand in green:
As this map shows, you can see from where the cars pass the grandstand all the back down to the exit of Turn 7, if you get the right seats.
However, regardless of which seats you pick, you can’t see to the right of the grandstand as there are some trees adjacent to the stand which will block your view in that direction:
The video below shows the view from the back row, Row K, in a low seat number (around seat 10). As it shows, from here you get a view all the way back down to the exit of Turn 7. You can also clearly see the TV screen.
If you had a higher row in a higher seat number (over seat 40) then you’d risk not being able to see down towards Turn 7 because of the trees on the left side of the stand.
In this video, there are two trees right in front of the right hand side of the stand. These are no longer there, so there’s no risk of you view being blocked by those. But there are trees further to the right that still block your view once the cars have passed the stand.
Best seats
I would choose lower seat numbers in a higher row to make sure you get a good view back down towards the exit of Turn 7. I’d go for rows F and above in seat numbers 1 – 20 if possible.
Is this a good place to sit?
You get a real sense of speed from the F1 cars in this stand. You’re unlikely to see much (if any) overtaking, but at least you’ll have good sight of the TV screen.
To see some more action I’d go for grandstand 6 by the first chicane where you’re likely to see some overtaking or maybe even some accidents.
