This is my guide to the Pit Exit 2 grandstand at the Formula 1 circuit in Hungary, the Hungaroring.
It includes my tips on picking the best seats in this grandstand, plus a full seating plan showing row, sector and seat numbers. And there’s videos of the view from different seats, ticket info and more.

Pit Exit 2 Grandstand location
The Pit Exit 2 grandstand at Hungary was new for 2025. In 2023 and 2024 it was just called the Pit Exit grandstand.
Now it has been renamed. It sits on the outside (left side) of the Budapest F1 track start / finish straight, opposite the pit lane exit and the end of the big pit building. It’s just before the start of the braking zone for the first corner.
It’s adjacent to the Pit Exit 1 grandstand to its left, and the much larger main Hungaroring grandstand and Hungaroring Platinum grandstands to its right.
A ticket for this grandstand gets you a reserved seat in the stand, plus roaming access to all of the general admission areas around the track, and the F1 fan zones.
Grandstand details
Cover
This grandstand is NOT covered. It has no roof. So if it rains (which it can do at the Hungarian F1) then you’ll get wet, so dress appropriately and be prepared for the weather!
Seats
The seats are individual plastic chairs with fixed bases.
TV screens
There’s two TV screens visible from this stand. One is opposite the left-hand portion of the stand on the other side of the track, the other is a little way off to the right on the pit building opposite. Those sat in the left hand side of the stand will have a better view of a screen.
Pit Exit 2 Grandstand F1 tickets
Tickets for this grandstand always sell out fast on the official Hungarian GP site. So if you still want tickets, I’d recommend buying tickets through ViaGoGo. They always have a large selection available right up until race day, even when they are seemingly sold out elsewhere.
Also, you can often find them at lower prices at the last minute, and there are lots of single day ticket options available.
I’ve bought all of my Formula 1 tickets through ViaGoGo over the last few years, including for my trips to the British GP at Silverstone and the Dutch GP at Zandvoort, and have had a great experience using them every time.
They also have their ‘FanProtect guarantee’ which ensures your tickets and money are always protected, which is great for added peace of mind.
Pit Exit 2 Grandstand seating plan
Below is the seating plan for the Pit Exit 2 grandstand at the Hungaroring:
As the seating plan above shows the grandstand is made up of 8 sectors from A to H. Sector A is the closest to Turn 1 and Sector H is closest to the start / finish line.
The 8 sectors are effectively in pairs (A and B, C and D, E and F, G and H) with an entrance walkway in the middle of each pair (shown as the grey area between the blue sections on the seating plan above). The seat numbers then increase from 1 when you walk outwards from the walkway in to your ticketed sector.
Row numbers start from 1 lowest down at the front and go up to row 13 at the back.
View
This grandstand is located directly opposite the pit lane exit. As you look to your left, you’ll see the cars braking and entering Turn 1. As you look to your right, you’ll see them coming along the start / finish straight at high speed.
But you can never quite see the start or finish line itself, as the larger grandstand to the right blocks your view of it.
The image below shows the parts of the circuit visible from this stand highlighted in green.
As mentioned previously, this grandstand used to just be called the Pit Exit grandstand. Now it’s the Pit Exit 2.
The video below was filmed from this stand, just when it had its old name. It was filmed from Sector D, Row 12. That’s fairly central left-to-right in the stand, but the second row from the top:
As the video shows, you can’t quite see the F1 cars on the start line from here because the large grandstand to your right blocks your view.
You do however have a great chance to see them come past you at full speed before they hit the brakes for Turn 1.
As this video was filmed from a high row, we can also see the cars for a short time once they’ve exited the first corner. If you were in a lower row, you wouldn’t be able to see them so clearly there.
Best seats in the Pit Exit 2 Grandstand
I think it’s most important to get rows as high as possible in this stand, to see the Formula 1 cars for as long as you can once they exit the first corner. So I would aim for rows 8 and above.
In terms of which sector to pick, that depends. If you want to see as much of the pit lane action as possible then sit as far to the right in the stand as you can, so sectors G and H would be preferable.
If you want a better chance at seeing some first corner action then go for the left hand sectors A and B.
Is this a good place to sit?
This grandstand is a bit of a compromise. If you want to see more first corner action then go for the T1 grandstand instead that gives you a perfect view of that corner.
If you want to see more of the pitlane and start line then go for the main Hungaroring grandstand (which is also covered), but that is also more expensive.
This one is not a bad choice, and you’ll be able to see a screen from your seat (more so in the left hand sections) so can keep up with the action elsewhere on the track.
