Lando Norris is one of the most likeable drivers on the F1 grid. He’s always up for a laugh off-track, especially with his teammates and other drivers.
Here’s a look at the 10 funniest Lando moments since he started his career in F1.
10 - "What damage do you have?"
During FP2 for the 2021 Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring, Lando has a little spin exiting the first corner. His engineer immediately radios him to ask “What damage do you have?”. Lando response is definitely not what his engineer would have expected…
9 - Lando's got balls
Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris had an awesome relationship when they were teammates at Mclaren, spawning the infamous CarLando bromance. And it’s continued ever since Sainz left McLaren.
In the video below, Sainz is giving an interview when Lando creeps up from behind and tries to flick him in his gentleman’s region. He succeeds, but Sainz is quick to retaliate.
8 - What's in the Box
Another CarLando moment at #8 and this time it’s a game devised by McLaren’s PR and marketing teams.
They decide to get Carlos and Lando to play a game of What’s in the Box; using only their hands they have to feel the object hiding inside the box and guess what it is.
Some of the reactions are priceless, especially Lando’s when he feels the fish.
7 - Lando gets the giggles
Lando has a great relationship with Sky Sports F1 presenter Natalie Pinkham. After the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix, which Lando said was one of the hardest races he’s ever done due to the humid conditions, it was Natalie who had the honour of interviewing Lando after he finished P2.
But as soon as the interview begins, Lando and Natalie both get the giggles. They set each other off and Lando even tells Pinkham to ‘stop laughing’. Despite the fact she can barely get a sentence out, she somehow completes the interview in shambolic style.
6 - "IT'S FRIDAY THEN"
Lando has had some great team radio moments over the years. His ‘YEAH BABY’ after McLaren qualified P2 and P3 for the 2023 Silverstone Grand Prix is one of the most memorable.
The emotional message from his departing race engineer Jarv at the end of the 2019 Abu Dhabi GP where Lando asked “Are you crying!?” is another good one.
But arguably his best radio moment came during Friday practice at the 2020 Tuscan Grand Prix, after his engineer asked him to perform a radio check. Rathen than just saying ‘check’ or ‘loud and clear’, Lando went for something else:
5 - A smashing trophy
Lando finished second in the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix, crossing the line just after race winner Max Verstappen.
Lando’s podium celebration has become iconic. Rather than just shaking and spraying his champagne like most other drivers, he hits it hard against the ground which makes the champagne erupt out of it.
The Hungarian Grand Prix has some beautiful, hand-made, porcelain trophies for the podium finishers. Max’s trophy was right next to where Lando decided to hit his champagne bottle.

4 - Lando gets the giggles again
If Lando’s post-race giggles at the 2023 Singapore GP weren’t funny enough, here he is again being interviewed by Natalie Pinkham after the 2022 Dutch Grand Prix.
This time things got a whole lot worse, to the point where tears appeared.
3 - The Milk Challenge
During pre-season testing in 2020, Sky Sports F1 and Jonny Herbert decided to put teammates Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz through the Milk Challenge.
The challenge was for each them to drive a normal road car around a slalom course whilst the other, sat in the passenger seat, tries to hold a large bowl of milk steady. Needless to say, it didn’t end well.
2 - Face hopper
After Sainz, Lando’s teammate at McLaren was Daniel Ricciardo. The two of them had quite the bromance, but this is one of their most inconic moments ever.
It took place during the 2022 British GP weekend. Before the race, in a bid to give the crowd some entertainment, Sky Sports F1 decided to hand each of them a space hopper and set them on a race.
After a poor start and dropping behind, Lando was determined not to lose. So he picked his space hopper up and ran towards the finish line, only to be met square in the face by Ricciardo’s hopper. Iconic.
1 - "Have you got _ yet?"
I think, without question, this is the funniest and most iconic Lando Norris moment ever. It took place in a press conference during the 2019 Silverstone Grand Prix weekend when Lando was just 19 years old.
Somehow the drivers get on to the topic of body hair, and Lando commented on Lewis’ moustache. Lando said he definitely couldn’t grow one of those.
Daniel Ricciardo then asks Lando the infamous question. And for the rest of the press conference Lando tries and fails to hold back the laughter. He disrupts the whole interview as he’s in tears. Classic.
