When watching coverage of a Formula 1 race, you’ll often see the man on the right of the image above alongside Lando Norris. He’ll be with him in the McLaren garage, in the hospitality area or one of the first to congratulate him when he has a good result.
But contrary to most people’s opinions, he is not Lando’s father. He’s someone else entirely.
Lando's father
Lando’s father is Adam Norris, an entrepreneur who has a net worth of over £200 million after starting the UK’s first direct-to-consumer pension company that eventually got bought by Hargreaves Lansdown.
He is not the guy in the picture at the top of this page.
Adam does come to a number of the races with Lando but doesn’t attend them all. He’s busy running his new startup company Pure Electric Scooters. He even missed Lando’s first win at the Miami Grand Prix, and was instead watching at home back in the UK.

Climbing the motorsport ladder
Lando’s father made so much money from his pensions company that by his mid-30s he could have comfortably retired, but had other plans. He started Horatio Investiments, a company through which he could invest money in start-ups across the UK.
He also dediciated a huge amount of his time to helping Lando rise up through the motorsport ladder, with the ultimate goal of making it in to Formula 1.
But Adam knew he needed to build a team around Lando to give him the best chance of making it to the top. So in 2011, he hired ADD Management to help guide Lando in the right direction.
ADD Management
ADD Management focusing on developing and managing racing drivers through their career. It was started in 2019 by Fraser Sheader
Fraser Sheader started go-karting at the age of 6 and was incredibly talented. He took national and international titles and raced against many drivers who have competed in Formula 1. Notably, he was one of the few young drivers that could challenge Lewis Hamilton on the kart track.
He noticed that many drivers at the top of the karting world struggled with the transition to single seaters and racing cars:
“We spotted the gap between karting and cars is where a lot of very capable and talented drivers are falling down and we decided to do something about it, as a lot of other people don’t,” Sheader said back in 2012.
“I’d suffered exactly the same thing myself after a good career in karting, failing at that point in your career is tough and we’re trying to stop that happening to other young drivers,” he added.
Shortly after he started the company he brought in Mark Berryman who had successfully run some large kart teams across Europe and noticed the same thing with a number of great karters failing at the transition to cars.

ADD Management were brought onboard by Adam Norris in the final couple of years of Lando’s karting career, before he transitioned to single seaters. And they’ve been by his side ever since.
Mark Berryman
Mark is the man on the right of the image at the top of this page. He’s the one you’ll often see alongside Lando at the Formula 1 race meetings.
Effectively, he’s Lando’s manager. Both Mark and Fraser have been instrumental in developing Lando over the years in to the race-winning Formula 1 driver that he is today. Mark was present was Lando took his maiden F1 win at the 2024 Miami Grand Prix, and was one of the first to congratulate him.
Infact, he’s so omnipresent in Lando’s Formula 1 racing world that the F1 TV directors incorrectly captioned him as “Lando Norris’ father” at the 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix when they showed a shot of him watching the race from inside the McLaren garage.
They’d be forgiven for thinking that, seeing as he’s been by his side every step of the way in his motorsport career. The image below shows the two of them back in 2012, when Lando was still karting.
