Monza Grandstand 14 Ascari 2 location

Grandstand 14 Ascari 2 BIS is on the right hand side of the Monza circuit, which is the inside of the track, at the start of the Ascari chicane. This chicane is also known as Variante Ascari.

This chicane is made up of three corners – Turns 8, 9 and 10. It’s a left-right-left chicane. Grandstand 14 sits just past the apex of Turn 8, on the other side of the circuit.

The grandstand has Grandstand 12 directly adjacent, to its left.

This grandstand quite a long way from any of the entrance gates. The nearest is gate B which is on the other side of the start / finish straight. To get here from there you have to use the bridge over the circuit or take Tunnel 3 under the track. Allow at least 30 minutes to walk here from that gate, maybe even more on busy race day.

If you’re taking a public transport shuttle to get to the track then these will drop off at Gate G. That’s a 30 to 40 minute walk.

You’re nice and close to main F1 fanzone here which is on the outside of the track a short way after the Ascari chicane. To get there you can walk further along the circuit and take Tunnel 5 under the track. It’s a 10 to 15 minute walk.

Grandstand details

Cover

This grandstand uncovered. You’ll be in the Italian sunshine all day so make sure you dress appropriately.

Seats

The seats are bleacher style bench seats. If you need a backrest then go for the top row as you can lean against the fence at the back.

TV screens

There’s one TV screen on the other side of the track that’s visible from here.

Monza Grandstand 14 Tickets

This grandstand is one of the cheapest at Monza during the Italian Grand Prix weekend, so tickets can sell out fast. So I’d recommend you buy tickets through ViaGoGo instead. There will be a good selection of tickets available to purchase up until the last minute, plus you can often find them at lower prices.

I’ve used Viagogo to buy my Formula 1 tickets a lot of times times over the last few seasons. I’ve used for my British, Belgian and Dutch GPs most recently. I’ve always had a great experience using their platform and have managed to find tickets at lowers prices nearer the race date. I’ll happily be using them for F1 tickets again.

They also have a very good ‘FanProtect Guarantee’ which protects your money and your tickets. That has has always given me extra peace of mind when buying with them.

Monza Grandstand 14 Ascari 2 BIS seating plan

Below is the seating chart for Grandstand 14 Ascari 2 BIS at Monza. It is a big image file which is actually a little too big to put on this page. So instead, if you enter your details in to the boxes below and press send, the seating plans will be emailed straight to your inbox.

Grandstand 14 has row A lowest down at the front and Row I (‘eye’) highest up at the back. Seat numbers start at 1 on the left hand side of the grandstand, if you’re standing on the track and looking at it, and increase as you go to the right.

View

This image shows the parts of the track visible from  grandstand 14 in green:

As the map shows, your view from this grandstand is mainly of the Ascari Variante chicane which is right in front of you. You’ll be sat just past the Apex of Turn 8, so will have to look back to your left ever so slightly to see that. Then you’ll have a fantastic view of Turns 9 and 10.

Because of the way this grandstand is positioned, you’re also able to see after the exit of Turn 10 as the cars head down towards Turn 11 which is the Parabolica. Although that will be quite a long way in the distance so you’ll need a good zoom on your camera or some binoculars to see it.

As you look to your left, you’ll be able to see the cars in the braking zone for Turn 8. But you won’t be able to see any earlier than that as the adjacent stands and trees will block your view any further.

I haven’t had a chance to get footage from this grandstand yet as it was new for 2025. But the video below is taken from the lowest seat numbers of Grandstand 12 directly next to it, which is effectively the view you’d get from the highest seat numbers of Grandstand 14. The only differences are that the TV would be on the other side of the track at the Apex for Turn 8, and you’d have a better angle to see the cars for longer as they exit Turn 10:

Best seats

I would choose the highest row numbers possible to get a wider vantage point and try and see over the safety fencing in front of you. I’d aim for rows G and above.

Is this a good place to sit?

You get a great sense of speed and cornerning ability from the F1 cars here as they come through the Ascari Variante chicane at high speed. But this is a very rare overtaking point, so you’re not likely to see much passing action.

If I wanted to see this part of the circuit, I’d go for Grandstand 18 instead. That one’s covered and is positioned at the exit of the chicane, so gives you a better view down towards the Parabolica.
