This is my guide to the five Grandstands at Laterale Parabolica – 21A, 21B, 21C, 21D and 21E – at Monza for the Italian Grand Prix.

In this guide I have included my tips for picking the best seats in these stands, videos which show the views from different sections, a full seating chart for each of the five grandstands and info on how to get tickets if they’re sold out elsewhere.

Monza Grandstand 21 Laterale Parabolica location

At the Monza circuit, Grandstand 21 (or Tribuna 21) has effectively been split in to five seperate grandstands. These five are all part of the Laterale Parabolica group of stands:

  • 21A
  • 21B
  • 21C
  • 21D
  • 21E

Turn 11 is the final corner on the circuit, the fearsomely fast Parabolica which leads on to the start / finish straight. Grandstand 21E is the furthest from the Turn 11 apex and grandstand 21A is closest to it. 21A is also adjacent to the covered Grandstand 22.

The nearest entrance gate to this stand is gate G which is only a short walk away. To get to the stand from that entry point you get to walk under the original Monza circuit banking, the original Parabolica.

This stand is also very close to the main Formula 1 fanzone which is less than a 5 minute walk away.

Grandstand details

Cover

All of these five grandstandsare uncovered. The hot Italian sun will be out during the Grand Prix weekend so make sure you follow the dress code and wear appropriate sun protection.

Seats

The seats in all five grandstands are bleacher style bench seats, no backrests. You just have an allocated space on the bench.

TV screens

There are three TV screens opposite this stand on the inside of the circuit.

Monza Grandstand 21 Tickets

This is a popular place to sit at the Italian GP which means tickets can sell out fast. If that’s the case I’d recommend buying tickets through ViaGoGo instead where you’ll be able to find a great selection of tickets for sale right up until race day.

And if you watch the ticket prices in the final few days before the Grand Prix you might be able to find them for cheaper than list price, which is what I’ve done previously.

I’ve used ViaGoGo for all of my tickets to watch different Grand Prix over the last couple of seasons, including for the Dutch, Belgian and British F1 races. I’ve always had a great experience with their tickets and won’t hesitate to buy from them again next time.

Additionally they have a ‘Fan Protect’ guarantee which will protect your money and your tickets – great for extra peace of mind!

Monza Grandstand 21 Seating Plan

Below is the seating plan for Grandstand 21E, 21D, 21C, 21B and 21A Laterale Parabolica at Monza. Enter your name and email in the boxes below, hit send, and the hi-res seating chart will be sent straight to your inbox (the image file is too big to host on this page!).

The rows run from A (front) to T (back), but are prefixed by the letter of the grandstand. So the rows in 21C, for example, will go from CA to CT. The fifth row up would be row CE.

Seat numbers start at 1 on the left hand side of each grandstand (if you are stood on track and look up at the seats) and increase as you move to the right.

View

The image belows shows the parts of the Monza F1 circuit that are, in general, visible from these grandstand highlighted in green:

Obviously your view will change slightly from 21E compared to 21A. But overall, you’ll be able to see down the straight to the right where the cars will come in to view shortly after they’ve exited the Ascari chicane. Then you’ll lose them out of sight once they have entered Turn 11 Parabolica to your left.

To see the specific view from each stand, check out these videos / images below:

Grandstand 21A

21A is the closest to the Parabolica corner and is also directly opposite the left-hand TV screen. This 360 degree image shows the view from the tenth row up, Row AJ:

Whereas this video shows the view from the front row, Row AA where you are super close to the action and get an amazing sense of speed as the cars pass you:

Grandstand 21B

21B is the next grandstand along to the right, a little further from the screen to the left. This first video shows the view from the sixth row from the front, Row BF:

Whereas this video was filmed from higher up in 21B, Row BM:

Grandstand 21C

Grandstand 21C is the middle of the five Laterale Parabolica stands, and from here you’re actually a little closer to the middle TV. Infact the lower seat numbers are directly opposite that TV.

This first video was filmed from Row CM (the 13th row up) seat 72:

And this video was filmed from further to the right in the stand, Row CL seat 5:

Grandstand 21D

21D is the second stand from the right. It’s between the middle and right-hand screens on the other side of the circuit.

This video shows the view from the back row, Row DT of Grandstand 21D:

And this one shows the view from slightly further down, but much further to the right. Row DM seat 9:

An as a contrast this video shows the view from the front row, Row DA:

Grandstand 21E

Finally there’s grandstand 21E, the furthest to the right of the five Laterale Parabolica stands and the furthest from Turn 11. It is, however, opposite the screen on the right hand side of the three TVs.

The thing to be mindful of with this stand is that there are trees directly to the right of it, as you’ll see in the videos below.

This first video was filmed from roughly in the middle of the stand in Row EH, and even from here the trees to the right obstruct your view slightly:

And finally this video was filmed from even further to the right, seat 11, and the trees are really blocking your view of the cars approaching from the right:

Best seats

Personally I’d choose to be as far to the left in the stands as possible. So I’d go for Grandstand 21A at Laterale Parabolica because there you see the cars turning in to the incredibly fast Parabolica and get a sense of their cornering speed and downforce working. Plus you’re opposite the left hand TV screen,

I’d go for the higher rows to get a wider vantage point, so would go for Row AL and above.

Is this a good place to sit?

The Parabolica is an incredibly fast corner at the Monza Italian Grand Prix circuit, so you want to see as much of it as possible, that’s why I’d go for 21A. Occasionally you might see the odd overtake on the approach if a car gets a good run out of the Ascari chicane.

If you are going to sit at this part of the track I would prefer to go for the adjacent Grandstand 22 as it has a better view of Turn 11 and is covered, so you’re out of the sun.
