This is my guide to the Grandstand 22 Parabolica at the Monza Grand Prix circuit in Italy.

In this guide I’ve included my tips for picking the best seats in this stand, videos which show the views from different positions, a full seating chart and info on how to get tickets for the grandstand even if they’re sold out elsewhere.

Monza Grandstand 22 Parabolica location

Grandstand 22 at the Monza circuit is on the outside of the Parabolica corner, Turn 11, the very fast right hander that leads on to the start / finish straight.

The grandstand itself it adjacent to the larger Grandstand 21 Laterale Parabolica. Unlike that stand, Grandstand 22 actually extends past the end of the track in to the run-off area as the circuit turns right back on itself.

The nearest gate to this stand is entrance gate G which is only a short walk away, and you get to walk under the original Monza circuit banking to get from there to this stand.

This stand is also very close to the main F1 fanzone which about a 5 minute walk away.

Grandstand details

Cover

This grandstand is covered. It has a roof over the top which covers all rows, although because the roof is high the front few rows will be a little exposed.

The grandstand faces West so you’ll only get the sun on in you during the later parts of the afternoon. So make sure you check out the Monza F1 dress code and wear clothing and protection suitable for the Italian weather!

Seats

The chairs are individual plastic seats.

TV screens

There’s one TV screen visible from here. It’s on the other side of the circuit but it’s a little way to the right. So those sat further to the right (lower seat numbers) in this stand will have the best view of the screen.

Monza Grandstand 22 Tickets

This is a  popular grandstand at the Italian GP which means tickets can often sell out fast. So I’d recommend buying tickets through ViaGoGo instead where you’ll be able to find a good selection of tickets for sale even when they are sold out in other places.

And if you watch the ticket prices in the last few days before the Grand Prix you might be able to find them cheaper than list price.

I’ve used ViaGoGo for all of my tickets to different Grand Prix in Europe over the last couple of seasons, including when I went to the Dutch, British, and Belgian F1 races. I’ve always had a great experience using their system and won’t hesitate to do the same again next time.

Additionally they have their ‘Fan Protect’ guarantee which protects your money and your tickets, which is great for extra peace of mind.

Monza Grandstand 22 Seating Plan

Below is the seating plan for Grandstand 22 Parabolica at Monza. Enter your name and email in the boxes below, hit send, and the hi-resolution seating chart will be sent straight to your inbox (it’s too big to host on this page!).

The rows run from A (front) to M (back). Seat numbers start at 1 on the left hand side of the stand (if you’re stood on track and look up at the seats) and increase to 164 on the far right hand side.

View

The image belows shows the parts of the Monza circuit that are visible from this stand highlighted in green:

As the map above shows, from this grandstand your view to the right is of the cars heading down towards the Parabolica corner. You’ll struggle to see them exit the Ascari chicane as the stand to your right will block your view slightly, plus it’s a long way in the distance.

Then you’ll be able to watch them enter parabolica and then they’ll dissapear out of sight about two-thirds of the way around the corner.

The further left you sit in the stand (the higher your seat numbers) the longer you’ll be able to see them for as they go around Parabolica.

This first video below was filmed from the lower seat numbers, so far to the right in the stand. It was filmed from around seat 20, row E. The great thing about these low seat numbers is you’re right opposite the TV.

In contrast, the video below shows the view from further to the left in this stand. This was filmed from the higher seat numbers, around seat 130, in row F. From here you can see you are looking back down the track, and the TV is much harder to see.

And finally this video shows the view from the back row and highest seat numbers, so row M and seat 160 in this grandstand.

Best seats

Personally I think the best seats in Granstand 22 at Monza are those with the best view of the TV screen. So for that you need the lowest seat numbers possible. Ideally aim for seats 30 and below.

In terms of which row to go for, being high has a view advantages; you can look over the safety fence, you’re more protected from the weather and you have a nicer vantage point. So I’d aim for row H and above.

Is this a good place to sit?

Parabolica is an incredibly fast corner at the Italian Grand Prix circuit. You’ll get a chance to see the F1 cars’ downforce at work. Occasionally there’s the odd overtake on the approach as well if a car gets a good run out of the Ascari chicane, but you won’t see as much overtaking as you would at the first corner.

But these are nice seats nonetheless – under cover, great atmosphere and a chance to see the cars at high speed.
