This is my guide to the Vedano grandstand 24 the Monza Italian Grand Prix circuit.

It includes my tips on picking the bests seats, videos of the views from different seat positions, and tips on how to get tickets even if they’re sold out elsewhere.

Monza Grandstand 24 Vedano location

At the Monza Italian Grand Prix circuit, grandstand 24 Vedano (also known as Tribuna 24 Vedano) is located on the outside of the circuit at the end of the final corner Parabolica and at the beginning of the start / finish straight. It’s directly opposite the pit lane entrance and the smaller Grandstand 23.

The other main benefit of this stand is that you can see the podium from here. It’s a little way off to the left but after the race you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of the top 3 stood atop the podium with tens of thousands of Tifosi on the track beneath them.

The nearest entrance to this stand are entrance gates A and B. which are a 5 minute walk away. But if you’re getting one of the shuttle buses these tend to drop off near gate G, and that’s more than a 30 minute walk away.

To get to the main F1 fanzone from here, which is on the outside of the track between turns 10 and 11, you’d need to go under two tunnels crossing beneath both sides of the circuit. It would be a 15 minute walk.

If you want to do the post-race track invasion (a must-do at Monza), the nearest access point is actually on the inside of the circuit adjacent to the grandstands opposite. So you’d need to leave your seats a few minute early, walk under the tunnel and wait at the gate.

There’s a number of concession stands selling food and drink directly behind this grandstand.

Grandstand details

Cover

Grandstand 24 at Monza is covered. It has a roof over the top, but the roof is quite high so if you’re in the front few rows you should still expect to get some sun on you. The grandstand is East facing so you’re only like to get sun at the start of the day. In the afternoon it should be behind you and you should be fully shaded.

Seats

The seats in this grandstand are bench style seats with no backrests (unless you get the back row then you can lean again the safety fence).

TV screens

There’s a single TV screen visible from this stand. It’s on the other side of the circuit to the left of grandstand 23B.

Monza Grandstand 24 Tickets

This is a popular place to sit at the Italian Grand Prix, especially because it has a roof over the top. That means tickets for these seats can sell out fast though. So I’d recommend buying your tickets through ViaGoGo instead where they will have a good selection of tickets still for sale right up until race day.

And if you watch the ticket prices closely in the last days before the Grand Prix weekend you might find them for cheaper than official list price, which is what I’ve managed to do previously.

I’ve used ViaGoGo for all my Formula 1 tickets over the last couple of seasons, including for my visits to the British, Dutch and Belgian Grand Prix. I’ve always had a great experience with them and won’t hesitate to use them again next time.

Additionally they have a robust ‘Fan Protect’ guarantee which ensures your money and tickets are protected which is always good for added peace of mind!

The rows run from A (front) to L (back). Seat numbers start at 1 on the left hand side of the stand (if you’re standing on the tracking and looking up at the seats) and increase as you move to the right. It’s a long stand and the seat numbers go up to over 250.

View

The image below shows the areas of Monza visible from this Vedano stand in green:

The map above shows that this stand offers a slightly limited view of the circuit. You’ll be able to see the cars existing the final corner, accelerating at full throttle and making their way down the start / finish straight. You’ll be able to watch them until the start line, then the safety fencing and advertising gantries will block your view.

There are also some trees directly to the left of this stand, so sitting on the far left hand side means your view will be slightly compromised by those.

You’ll also be able to see the F1 cars enter the pit lane, but you won’t be able to see any of the pit action as even in the back row you’re not high enough and it’s too far away.

This video shows the view from Row L (back row) seat 125, about half way along the stand:

This next video was filmed from Row C (third row up) seat 144, again a very central position in the stand:

This video was filmed from much further to the left in the stand, around seat 215 Row K:

Best seats

The best seats in grandstand 24 Verdano at Monza are those in a fairly central position. I’d aim for seats in the 100 – 150 range if possible, and in the higher rows for a wider vantage point.

I’d wouldn’t suggest going any further to the left (high seat numbers) than that because the trees on the left hand side of the stand will block your view of the main straight.

For seeing the podium after the race a lot of people will leave the grandstand anyway, so you’ll be free to make your way further to the left in the stand to find a spot to watch from.

Is this a good place to sit?

Sitting here gives you a chance to see the cars accelerate past at full throttle, but because they’ll be going so fast you won’t see them for so long.

You are in line with the last few rows on the grid, so you’ll get to do some F1 driver, team boss and celebrity spotting on the pre-race grid.

If you’re keen on getting  good view for the podium then I’d look at seats in the adjacent grandstand 26 which is directly in line with it and only slightly more expensive.
