This is my spectacting guide to grandstand 5 Piscina at the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
In this guide I’ve including my tips to help you select the best seats in this stand. There’s also videos of the views from different seats and some info on where to get tickets.

Monza Grandstand 5 Piscina location
The Piscina grandstand at the Italian Grand Prix circuit is situated on the left hand side of the start / finish straight, a short way past the start line.
Piscina means swimming pool, and as the image below shows this stand is right next to a pool. It’s also adjacent to the Laterale Sinistra grandstand which is to its right, the other side of a pedestrian tunnel that goes under the track to the middle of the circuit.
Entrance gate B is closest to this stand and is a 5 minute walk away. The shuttle buses that deliver people to the track drop off near gate G, and that’s more like a 35 – 45 minute walk away.
The Formula 1 fanzone is on the opposite side of the circuit near Turn 10. To get there it’s a 30 minute walk from Grandstand 5.
There are usually gates pretty much directly in front of this stand that open up after the race so you can enter the track and join the crazy track invasion.
There are plenty of food and drink stalls and toilets nearby.
Grandstand details
Cover
This grandstand is uncovered so you will be exposed to the hot Italian sun all day. Make sure you dress for the weather.
Seats
The seats in this stand are bleacher style bench seats with no back rest.
TV screens
There’s a TV screen directly opposite this stand on the other side of the track, which is a big bonus.
Monza Grandstand 5 Tickets
These are some of the cheaper tickets for the Italian Grand Prix, so they can and do often sell out. If that’s the case then you will still be able to buy tickets through ViaGoGo where there should be a good selection available right up until the race weekend.
I’ve bought my F1 tickets using Viagogo a number of times over the last few seasons, including for my most recent visits to the British GP, Dutch GP and Belgian GP. I’ve always had a great experience using their service and will be happy to do so again.
They also have a really good ‘FanProtect guarantee’ which has always given me added peace of mind that my money and tickets will be safe.
Monza Grandstand 5 seating plan
Below is the seating plan for grandstand 5 Piscina at Monza. It’s a big image file, and actually a bit too big to host on this page. So add you details in the boxes below and it’ll be sent straight to your inbox where you can view it.
The front row in this stand is Row A, the back row is Row M. Seat numbers begin at 1 on the right side of the stand (as you sit in your seats and look at the track) and increase as you move to the left.
View
Below you can see the parts of the Italian Grand Prix circuit visible from this stand in green:
As the map shows, the view from here is very limited. The front of the stand is only a metre or so above ground level and is very close to the safety fence. So as you try and look to your right the fence line obstructs your view. The further up / back you sit in the stand, the better it gets.
Unfortunately almost directly to the left of this stand is a viewing tower and some trees, as the image below shows. These completely block your view to the left, so you can’t see Turn 1 from here.
You are opposite the exit of the pitlane, so will have a great view of the cars accelerating hard to get back up to speed once they leave the pits. But you won’t be able to see them merge with traffic (you wouldn’t have been able to see Lewis and Max colliding at Turn 1 in 2021).
This video shows the view from Row F:
This video shows the view from a little higher up in the stand, Row J:
And finally this video shows the view from higher up again in the stand, Row L:
Best seats
If you choose this stand my main recommendation would be to get seats in the highest rows possible. The higher rows give you a wider vantage point and the fence isn’t quite so obstructive to your view as you look to the right, as you’re looking through it rather than along it.
Is this a good place to sit?
I think the view from this stand is very limited. If you can, try and go for one of the bigger stands further to the right on the start / finish straight. Laterale Destra 26C is my personal favourite – great views of the start line, pit lane, pit garages and podium.
