The 2023 Abu Dhabi Formula 1 event takes place from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th October at the Yass Marina circuit.

This guide provides details of the full Abu Dhabi Grand Prix schedule across all three days. 

It lists when and where the Formula 1 will be showed on TV across the world, and what times the practice, qualifying and race sessions will start in a number of different time zones.

2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix dates

The 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend starts on Friday the 24th November and finishes on Sunday the 26th November.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix takes place at Yas Marina circuit on Yas Island near Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the UAE.

The Abu Dhabi F1 race will be the final round of the 2032 Formula 1 World Championship.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race weekend format

The 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be a traditional Formula 1 weekend format of 3 practice sessions, qualifying and the race. It will not include a sprint race.

Below is the format and duration of the different F1 sessions during the Abu Dhabi GP weekend:

Friday 24th November:

  • Free Practice 1 (60 mins)
  • Free Practice 2 (60 mins)

Saturday 25th November:

  • Free Practice 3 (60 mins)
  • Qualifying – Q1 / Q2 / Q3 (60 mins)

Sunday 26th November:

  • Grand Prix (58 laps or 120 mins)

2023 Abu Dhabi F1 qualifying time

Qualifying for the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will take place on Saturday 25th November at 18:00 (6pm) local time and will last a total of 60 minutes.

Qualifying will be split in to three separate sessions – Q1, Q2 and Q3.

All 20 drivers will take part in Q1. Of those, only the fastest 15 will progress to Q2. Then, only the top 10 fastest drivers from Q2 will then move on to Q3.

Q3 is the final 10 minute shootout for pole position.

2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix start time

The 2023 Abu Dhabi GP will start at 17:00 (5pm) local time on Sunday 26th November.

The Grand Prix will last for either 58 laps or 120 minutes, whichever is shorter.

What channel is the Abu Dhabi GP on?

UK fans will be able to watch footage of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix live on the Sky Sports F1 channel. You do need a paid subscription to do this, however. Pre-race build up usually starts about 60 to 90 minutes prior to the Grand Prix start time.

Race highlights will be available for free on Channel 4  in the evening on Sunday 26th November.

Detailed Abu Dhabi F1 / motorsport schedule

As well as the Formula 1 there will be other motorsport activity taking place on Yas Marina circuit across the weekend. This will include the support races’ practice, qualifying and race sessions.

For 2023 the support series of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix are:

  • FIA Formula 4 UAE
  • FIA Formula 2
