2026 Mexico F1 dates
The 2026 Mexico Grand Prix weekend starts on Friday the 30th October and finishes on Sunday the 1st November at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
There will be F1 sessions on all three days across the weekend.
Mexican Grand Prix race weekend format
The Mexican Grand Prix will use the traditional Formula 1 race weekend format of three practice sessions, one qualifying session and then the Grand Prix.
There is no sprint race at the 2026 Mexican GP.
Below is the format and length of each of the different F1 sessions during the Mexico F1 weekend:
Friday 30th October:
- Free Practice 1 (60 mins)
- Free Practice 2 (60 mins)
Saturday 31st October:
- Free Practice 3 (60 mins)
- Qualifying – Q1 / Q2 / Q3 (60 mins)
Sunday 1st November:
- Grand Prix (71 laps or 120 mins)
2026 Mexico F1 qualifying time
Qualifying for the 2026 Mexican Grand Prix will take place at 15:00 (3pm) local time on Saturday 31st October and will last for a total of 60 minutes.
Qualifying will be split in to three separate parts – Q1, Q2 and Q3.
All 20 drivers will take part in Q1. Of those, only the fastest 15 will progress to Q2. Only the 10 fastest drivers from Q2 will then move on to Q3 which will be the final 10 minute shootout for pole position.
2026 Mexico Grand Prix start time
The 2026 Mexico F1 Grand Prix will start at 14:00 (2pm) local time on Sunday 1st November.
The Grand Prix will last for either 71 laps or 120 minutes, whichever is shorter.

What channel is the Mexico GP on?
UK fans will be able to watch live coverage of the Mexican Grand Prix on the Sky Sports F1 channel. However, you need a paid subscription to do this. Pre-race build up usually begins around 90 minutes prior to the Grand Prix start time.
Race highlights will be available to view for free on Channel 4 late in the evening on Sunday 1st November.
