Singapore Grand Prix race weekend format
The Singapore Grand Prix weekend doesn’t feature a sprint race for the Formula 1. Instead it features the traditional race weekend format of three practice sessions, one qualifying session and one race.
The Singapore Formula 1 race is one of only four races this year to be held at night. Below is the structure of the F1 sessions across the three-day race weekend:
Friday
- First practice session (60 mins)
- Second practice session (60 mins)
Saturday
- Third practice session (60 mins)
- Qualifying – Q1 / Q2 / Q3 (60 mins)
Sunday
- Race (61 laps or 120 mins)
2023 Singapore Grand Prix Qualifying time
Qualifying for the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix will start at 21:00 local circuit time on Saturday 16 September. Qualifying will be split in to three sessions, Q1, Q2 and Q3, which will last for a total of 60 minutes.

The 2023 Singapore Grand Prix race will start at 20:00 local circuit time on Sunday 17th September. It will last for either 61 laps or 120 minutes, whichever is shorter.

What channel is the Singapore GP on?
UK viewers will be able to watch live coverage of the Singapore Grand Prix practice sessions, qualifying and race on Sky Sports F1 with a paid subscription to that channel.
Coverage and pre-race build up usually begins around 60 to 90 minutes before the Singapore GP start time.
Highlights of the race will be available to view for free on Channel 4 on the evening of Sunday 17th September.

Gate opening times
If you’re lucky enough to have Singapore F1 tickets and are attending in person it’s important to know what time to arrive so you stand a good chance of getting a decent view from one of the general admission walkabout areas.
The Marina Bay circuit usually confirms the exact spectator gate opening times a few days before the event on their website, via their social feeds and on email. But for reference, below are the 2022 times.
