Eastside 4 Zandvoort Grandstand Guide: Seat Plan, Views, Tips

Eastside 4 grandstand view and seats at Zandvoort

The Eastside 4 Zandvoort grandstand is part of the Bronze group of grandstands. It’s located just after the Arena section of the Dutch Grand Prix circuit.

This article provides a complete guide to spectating from Eastside 4 based on my trip to the 2023 Dutch GP.

It includes a full seating plan for the stand, plus a video with examples of the view from different seats. I also give some tips on the seats to aim for and the ones to avoid.

Eastside 4 grandstand location

The Eastside 4 grandstand is located on the outside (left-hand side) of the Zandvoort track layout between turns 12 and 13.

It’s part of the Eastside group of grandstands and is the furthest along the track. It’s the only one of the Eastside stands that comes after the Arena sections, which is turns 11 and 12.

Eastside 4 tickets for the Dutch GP

This grandstand is part of the Bronze group of stands. These are the cheapest Zandvoort F1 tickets for grandstand seats as supposedly their view isn’t as good as the stands in the other groups.

The other groups are Main Straight, Gold, Silver I and Silver II. Below is the pricelist for all grandstand tickets at the 2023 Dutch Formula 1 weekend, as listed on the official Dutch GP website.

A 3-day weekend ticket in the Eastside 4 grandstand costs about 125 Euros more than a 3-day Zandvoort General Admission ticket.

Seats

The seats are chairs with folding bases and fixed backs.

Cover

The Eastside grandstand 4 isn’t covered. It’s completely exposed to the elements, and when it rained hard all weekend during the 2023 Dutch F1 weekend everyone in the stand got soaked.

You’re not allowed umbrellas in the grandstand as they block the view for people behind. So make sure you dress appropriately for the Dutch GP weather!

The only grandstand at Zandvoort which is covered is the Main grandstand.

TV screens

There is one TV screen opposite this stand that’s in line with the left hand side (highest seat numbers). There’s also the jumbotron to the right of the stand that’s pretty visible as well.

The screen opposite the stand is squeezed between two grandstands on the other side of the track. It’s set back a little way, so when you’re in the front row on the right hand end of Eastside 4 your view of the screen will be blocked.

Luckily the jumbotron screen to the right will allow you to keep up with all of the F1 action.

Facilities

There are numerous food and drinks vendors behind the Eastside grandstands. Mainly they are behind Eastside 2, but that’s only a couple of minutes’ walk from Eastside 4.

There are toilets directly behind this stand.

Eastside 4 Zandvoort grandstand seating plan

Below is the Zandvoort Eastside 4 grandstand seating plan.

As the seating chart shows the grandstand has 30 rows. Row 1 is lowest down at the front and Row 30 is highest up at the back.

The seat numbers increase from left to right (if you stand on the track and look up at the grandstand). The seat numbers increase continuously across the full width of the stand.

Seat 1 is on the far left and seat 96 is on the far right.

To get in to the grandstand you have to enter through one of four entrances, numbered 1300 to 1303. These are basically staircases at the back of the stand and you should enter through the one nearest to your seats.

These entrance numbers are clearly shown on the back of the stand, but aren’t always clear on your tickets.

Zandvoort Eastside 4 grandstand view

The image below shows the sections of track that can be seen from the Eastside 4 grandstand highlighted in pink.

The main part of your view from this grandstand is the straight between turns 12 and 13. You can just about see the second half and exit of Turn 12, and the entrance and apex of Turn 13.

The video below shows examples of the view from this stand from a number of different seats:

  • Row 1 Seat 12
  • Row 30 Seat 53
  • Row 17 Seat 96

As the video shows, sitting on the extreme left of the stand (highest seat numbers) maximizes how much  of Turn 13 you can see. It also puts you directly in front of the large TV screen opposite the stand.

Turn 13 at the Dutch Formula 1 track

Sitting higher up towards the right hand side of the stand (lower seat numbers) gives you a good vantage point of the exit of Turn 12.

Unfortunately the adjacent Eastside 3 grandstand blocks you from being able to see anything more than the exit of Turn 12.

If you sit in the front row you won’t be high enough to see over the banking between you and Turn 12. But the safety fence is quite a way in front of this grandstand, so sitting in the front row still gives you a pretty nice view.

Best seats in the Eastside 4 grandstand

Personally I think the best seats are those in the upper rows in the middle of this stand. Being high up gives you a wider vantage point so you have a good view of Turn 12 exit and Turn 13 entry.

Being in the middle means you can see both screens as well. I’d aim for anything higher than row 20 and seats in the 25 – 75 range.

Is the Eastside 4 Zandvoort grandstand a good place to sit?

This is one of the Bronze grandstands, meaning it’s cheapest because it hasn’t got the best views. And I’d agree with that; your view is pretty limited.

But being directly opposite another stand and on the edge of the Arena section means the atmosphere is great.

Plus an Eastside 4 ticket for the whole Formula 1 weekend is only 100 Euros more than a general admission ticket. For that small extra cost you get a guaranteed seat, clear view of TV screens and a great vibe.

Nearest entrance

Gate 2 is the nearest entrance from outside the track. That’s a 10 minute walk away from this stand.

If you’re staying in the 538 Zandvoort F1 camping village then Gate 4 is only a short walk away as well.

The map below shows gate 2 and the Eastside 4 stand as the brown (bronze) stand, number 33.
