I sat in Grandsstand 10 at the Montreal Grand Prix last year, and this is my review and guide to this stand for the Canadian F1 weekend.
In this article I’ll provide videos of the views from different seats, a seating plan and my tips on selecting the best seats. Plus I’ll say whether it’s worth it, or if there are other grandstands that are better options.

Grandstand 10 Location - Montreal Grand Prix
Grandstand 10at the Montreal Grand Prix track is located on the outside (left-hand side) of the circuit between Turn 2 and Turn 3. It’s directly adjacent to the much larger Grandstand 11, which is to its right.
This grandstand, also called Tribune 10, is one of the smallest stands at the track. It was new for last year’s race and feels like it’s been crammed in to a small space just to try and sell some extra seats. As you’ll see later down, the view from here isn’t all that great.
There is however a massive food and drink area nearby which is good, but this gets incredibly busy between the F1 sessions, especially just after one has ended. So I’d try and time your visit to the food vendors there to avoid those peak times as it’s quite a crush of people.
There’s lots of toilets nearby as well, but it’s a long walk from the main F1 Fan Zone – around 30 minutes.
Grandstand 10 tickets at Canadian Grand Prix
Tickets for most Grandstands at the Canadian Grand Prix sell out very quickly. So if you’ve left it a bit last minute but still want tickets I would suggest you do what I did for my trip to the Montreal GP and buy your tickets on Stubhub because they’ll have tickets available right up until the day of the Grand Prix itself. I bought mine less than 1 week before the race.
I’ve bought F1 tickets on Stubhub numerous times in the last 12 months, including this trip to the Montreal F1 and to other events like the Las Vegas GP and have always had a great experience with them.
Their FanProtect guarantee is solid and will always keep your money safe. Plus they usually have a huge number of 1, 2 or 3 day tickets for sale for the Canadian GP. Check them out.
Grandstand 10 details
Cover
This grandstand is completely uncovered. You’ll be exposed to the sun / rain all day (depending on what the Canadian weather gods decide). So dress accordingly. This stand faces North-East so the sun was behind me for most of the day, but there was still no shade and it was hot.
Seats
The seats bleacher style benches which are pretty uncomfortable so I’d suggest bringing something soft to sit on.
TV Screens
There’s on TV screen opposite. The further right you sit in the stand the easier this is to see, as it’s angled towards the grandstand on the right:
Seating Chart
Below is the Grandstand 10 seating chart at the Canadian Grand Prix.
As the seating chart shows the grandstand is made of three sections numbered 1, 2 and 3. Section 1 is closest to Turn 2 and the adjacent grandstand.
The rows in this grandstand are named using double letters. The front row lowest down is row AA, the second row is row BB etc. The back row was Row PP, and there was no Row I (“eye”).
The seat numbers begin at 1 in each section increase from left to right (if you stand on the track and look up at the grandstand).
Grandstand 10 views
The map below shows the parts of the track that are visible from Grandstand 10 in green:
As the map shows, your view from here is quite limited. You can just about see the cars going around the second half of Turn 2, then they fly past you and dissapear out of sight to your left before they get to Turn 3. The bridge to your left blocks your view of that.
This first image below shows the view looking to the right, and as you can see the adjacent grandstand does block your view slightly if you’re in the higher rows of Section 1:
And this next image shows the view to the left, blocked by the bridge (unless you’re in the front few rows of Section 1):
In the video below I’ve filmed the view from a number of different seats so you can get an idea of what the views are really like from this stand.
The clips in this video were filmed from the following seats:
- Section 1 Row AA Seat 10
- Section 1 Row PP Seat 9
- Section 2 Row DD Seat 3
- Section 3 Row MM Seat 1
Best Seats in Grandstand 10
The best seats in Grandstand 10 at the Canadian Grand Prix are those in the higher rows of Section 2 and 3. Ideally go for the top 3 rows.
Being high means you can see over the barriers in the middle of the track towards the start of Turn 2, and being in Sections 2 or 3 means the adjacent grandstand doesn’t block your view of Turn 2, as it would in the high rows of Section 1. And yes, the bridge to the left will block your view, but there’s nothing to see to the left anyway.
Is this a good place to sit at the Montreal Grand Prix?
If I’m being honest, not really. It feels like a bit of an afterthought this grandstand – the views are quite limited and the TV screen visibility isn’t great.
If you can afford it I’d definitely suggest going for seats in either Grandstand 11 or Grandstand 12, which are the two stands to the right of this one. They both have fantastic views of the first two corners.
Nearest entrance
There’s a new entrance called the Victoria Bridge entrance, just a short way behind this stand, they gets you on and off the island close to this grandstand. It’s definitely the one to use.
