I sat in Grandstand 32 at the Montreal Grand Prix last year. This is my review and guide to this grandstand at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
In this guide to Grandstand 32 I have included videos of the views from various seats, a full seating chart, my tips on picking the best seats, ticket info, and my thoughts on whether this grandstand is a good choice or whether there are other better options at the Canadian Grand Prix.

Grandstand 32 Location - Montreal Grand Prix
Grandstand 32 is located on the inside (right-hand side) of the circuit next to Turn 6 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
The grandstand sits parallel with the straight section of track where the F1 cars will be braking for Turn 6. Towards the right hand end of the stand the track will curve away from the seating area is it turns left around the apex of Turn 6.
The grandstand is also right next to the Family Grandstand, which sits at 90 degrees to thus one.
Grandstand 32 tickets for Canadian Grand Prix
Tickets for Grandstand 32 at the Montreal Formula 1 event sell out very very quickly on the official Canadian GP website.
So if that’s the case I recommend doing what I did and buy tickets through Stubhub because they always have tickets for sale right up until the last minute on the Grand Prix weekend. And you can choose from 1, 2 or 3-day tickets to give you more options.
I used Stubhub for my Canadian Grand Prix tickets, and I bought them about 10 days before the race weekend. I bought Friday only tickets in this grandstand for $32CAD each which is crazy cheap. I had a great experience using them, and will do so in the future.
It’s a peer-to-peer ticket reselling service, but their FanProtect guarantee is very robust and means you’ll get your money back should anything happen.
Grandstand 32 details
Cover
Grandstand 32 is completely uncovered. It has no roof over the top so you will be exposed to the elements. Make sure you bring suitable wet weather clothing or sun protection!
Seats
The seats are bleacher style bench seats that are very uncomfortable to sit on for long periods. Bring a cushion or something else soft.
TV Screens
There are two large TV screens on the other side of the track, just behind the armco on the inside of Turn 6. One of these is angle towards Grandstand 32 and you’ll be able to see if from wherever you sit in the stand.
Seating Chart
Below is the seating chart for Grandstand 32 at the Montreal Grand Prix.
The grandstand is made up of 4 sections. Section 1 is closest to the Turn 6 apex, section 4 is in the braking zone for Turn 6.
The rows in all sections are named with letters. Row AA is the front row, row BB is the second row and that continues up to Row ZZ. After that is goes to row A for the all the way up to Row F which is the back row in all sections.
The seat numbers get higher as you move to the right of the stand (as you look at it from the circuit). Seat numbers start from 1 at the beginning of each section
Grandstand 32 views
The map below shows the parts of the circuit than can be seen from Grandstand 32.
All you can see from this grandstand are Turns 6 and 7 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Due to the position of the stand the trees to the left of it block your view of seeing anything much prior to Turn 6.
The further to the right and the lower down you sit in the stand, the more you’re able to see of the cars as they brake for Turn 6. But even on the extreme right hand side at the very front of the stand you’ll still struggle to see much more. The stand is set back a little from the edge of the track which makes it worse, and if you sit in the front few rows the safety fence gets in your way slighty.
In the video below I filmed the view from a number of different seat positions:
- 00:11 – 00:31 Section 1 Row AA Seat 12
- 00:31 – 00:43 Section 1 Row MM Seat 1
- 00:43 – 00:56 Section 1 Row F Seat 9
- 00:56 – 01:10 Section 2 Row UU Seat 2
- 01:10 – 01:23 Section 3 Row ZZ Seat 18
- 01:23 – 01:36 Section 4 Row DD Seat 5
- 01:36 – 01:48 Section 4 Row F Seat 15
Best Seats in Grandstand 32?
Personally I think the best seats in Grandstand 32 at the Montreal Grand Prix are those on the right hand side of the stand, giving you a slightly better vantage point of the braking zone for Turn 6.
I’d try and get seats in Section 1 somewhere around the middle rows. Sitting higher up would give you a more panoramic view but sitting lower gives you a better angle to see the entry to Turn 6. Sitting in the middle is a compromise of the two.
Is Grandstand 32 a good place to sit at the Montreal Grand Prix?
I don’t think Grandstand 32 is a great place to sit at the Montreal Grand Prix. It has a pretty limited view of just Turns 6 and 7 where there’s not normally much overtaking or racing action that happens.
For the same price you could get seats in the adjacent Family Grandstand which has much better views of the braking zone for Turn 6. I’d definitely try and go for that stand instead of Grandstand 32.
Nearest entrance
The nearest entrance to Grandstand 32 is the Concorde entrance. Once you pass through the Concore entrance gates you will have to walk for around 15 minutes across the circuit infield to get to the grandstand.
See my guide to the Canada GP entrance gates for more details.
