This is my guide to the Bayfront grandstand at the Formula 1 Singapore GP night race.
It includes videos of the views from different seats, my tips on choosing the best seats, a seating plan, ticket information and more.

Bayfront Grandstand location
The Bayfront grandstand was only introduced in 2024. It’s on the outside (right-hand side) of Turn 17, just after the cars come around Turn 16. It’s made up of two parts and has its back to the bay.
NOTE: This is not the same as the old, much larger Bay grandstand that looked out over the bay. That stand is no longer in use.
Zone
The grandstand is in Zone 2 of the Marina Bay Circuit Park. But tickets to this stand include full access to walkabout areas in all zones (1, 2, 3 and 4) around the track, in addition to your reserved seat in the grandstand.
Bayfront Grandstand details
Cover
This grandstand is completely uncovered, so you’ll be exposed to the weather.
However, if you sit in seats 23 – 28 of section A2 (any rows), you might just be underneath the freeway overpass and have some protection from the rain, but not fully.
The Singapore Grand Prix is a night race but some of the support races and earlier practice sessions take place in the day time and at dusk, so it will be hotter then. It’ll always be very humid and there’s a decent chance of it raining, as it has done in some of the previous years. Check out my full guide on what to wear to the Singapore GP for some suggestions on how to dress comfortably.
Seats
The seats are individual plastic chairs with folding seat bases.
TV screens
There’s one large TV screen across the track opposite this stand that will be easily viewable from all seats.
Bayfront Grandstand F1 tickets
Tickets for the Bayfront grandstand sell out quickly on the official site. So instead, if you still want tickets, I’d recommend buying tickets through StubHub instead, where there’s always a good selection available even right up until race day. Sometimes you can find them as lower prices, plus there are lots of one-day ticket options available too.
I’ve bought Formula 1 tickets through StubHub a bunch of times over the last few F1 seasons and have had a very positive experience dealing with them each time. Their FanProtect guarantee is good as it will keep your tickets and money safe too.
- Tickets include free rides on the Singapore Flyer observation wheel
Tickets include access to Zones 1, 2, 3 & 4, just like a Premier Walkabout ticket but with the addition of a reserved seat in this grandstand. You can access the stages for all of the Singapore F1 concerts in any zones with this ticket.
This is one of the cheapest grandstand tickets at the Singapore GP.
Bayfront Grandstand seating plan
Below is the seating plan for the Bayfront Grandstand at the Singapore F1.
As the seating plan shows the grandstand is split in to two sections named A1 and A2. Section A1 is the closest to Turn 16 and Section A2 is the closest to Turn 18. Both sections are right in front of Turn 17.
Both sections have 20 rows, and 28 seats in each row.
Seat numbers increase from left to right as you sit in the stand and look at the track. The seat numbers start from 1 again at the beginning of each section.
Bayfront Grandstand view
From the Bayfront grandstand, you’ll have a view of the cars as they exit Turn 16, come around Turn 17 right in front of you then head off down the straight to Turn 18. The image below shows the parts of the track visible from this stand highlighted in green:
The straight that leads up to Turn 16 is one of the Singapore DRS Zones, so the braking and entry to that turn is now a decent overtaking opportunity. You might just catch a glimpse of the end of an overtaking manouvre at Turn 16.
You’ll have a great view of the cars going around the left hander of Turn 17, then you’ll see them head off down the next straight towards Turn 18, past the Promenade grandstand and Skyline grandstand.
This video shows the view from section A2, row 3, seat 18. Video credit Tong Khing Tzong:
As that video shows, as you look to your left from this seat you can see the cars apexing and exiting Turn 16. As you look to your right, you can then see them head off down towards Turn 18. But I wouldn’t go for higher seat numbers or rows than this one if you go for section A2; if you do, you won’t be able to see all the way down to Turn 18.
This next video was filmed from section A2, row 3, seat 13, so a little further to the left in the stand. Video credit Adrian Newman:
It’s a very similar view to the previous video, but being a bit further to the left means an even straighter view down the straight towards Turn 18.
The last 4 seconds of the next video shows the view from section A1, row 4, seat 1:

That view is as far to the left you can get, and in doing so you lose the view down the straight towards Turn 18. The one bonus is you can look to your left to get a better view of the cars entering Turn 16.
Best seats in the Bayfront Grandstand
I would proritise trying to get a view down the straight after Turn 17. Therefore, I’d try and get seats 1 – 10 in section A2, in the highest row possible, to maximise your view. The higher rows will also give you a view over the safety fencing.
Is the Bayfront Grandstand a good place to sit?
You won’t see the cars for a huge amount of time here, but as it’s a slow section you’ll have longer exposure to them that if you sat somewhere where they pass by much faster.
The DRS zone that ends at Turn 16 means that you stand a chance of seeing some overtaking.
The stand is quite a long way from the main fanzone in Zone 1, at least a 15 minute walk. But there is a small food truck next to this grandstand and toilets, so the essentials are there.
The big positive is the price; it’s a really cheap way to get a reserved seat and access to all 4 zones.
Nearest entrance & MRT station
Gate 8 ‘Helix’ is the nearest spectator entrance to this stand.
The nearest MRT station to Gate 8 is the Bayfront Station (CE1 / DT16). This is a really short walk away from the stand, just over the Helix bridge. You’re also close to the Marina Bay shopping centre, so if you want a break from the heat you can go back out of the gate and head there for 30 mins for some other food, drink and to enjoy the air con.
See my full guide to entrances & MRT stations at the Singapore GP for some more information on how to get to the circuit.
