This article lists the offical Oulton Park lap record for each circuit layout, plus the records and fastest ever lap times for most of the major UK racing series that use the circuit.
Oulton Park circuits
There are three different circuit layouts at Oulton Park: International, Island and Fosters. The International and Island layouts are regularly used for racing and have been for decades. The Fosters layout isn’t used for competitive events at the moment and hasn’t been for a number of years.
The lap times and records in this article are sourced from the official timekeeper of most UK motorsport events TSL Timing.
Oulton Park International lap record
The overall lap record for the Oulton Park International circuit is 1:28.559 set by Lucas Forestri in the British F3 International Championship in 2011, driving a Dallara F311 Mercedes in the first race of the meeting.
For lap records to be official they have to be set during a race, not during qualifying. So there is actually a faster lap at Oulton which was set a couple of years earlier.
The fastest ever lap time recorded at Oulton Park International circuit is 1:27.83 set by Max Chilton in qualifying for the 2009 British F3 championship round at Oulton, driving a Dallara F308 Volkswagen.
British Superbike lap record - International
The official British Superbike lap record at Oulton Park International is 1:33.620 set by Bradley Ray in 2022, resulting in an average lap speed of 130.51mph.
The fastest ever lap of Oulton Park International in the BSB is a 1:32.948 set by Bradley Ray during qualifying for the 2022 event.

GT3 lap record - International
The GT3 lap record at Oulton Park International is 1:33.857 set by Jules Gounon driving a Mercedes AMG GT3 during a race in 2022.

GB3 lap record - International
The official GB3 lap record at Oulton Park International is 1:29.205 set by Luke Browning in 2022 during a race.
The overall fastest GB3 lap time recorded at Oulton Park International is 1:28.929 set by Luke Browning during qualifying in 2022.
TCR lap record - International
The official TCR UK lap record at the Oulton Park International circuit is 1:42.714 set by Chris Smiley during a race in 2022 driving a Honda Civic Type R FK7 TCR.
The fastest ever TCR UK lap of Oulton Park International is 1:42.348 set by Ash Sutton during qualifying in 2018 driving a Honda Civic Type R TCR. The 3-time BTCC champion entered the Oulton Park round of the TCR UK series as a guest driver. He qualified on pole and won both races in commanding fashion, re-affirming his incredible talent.
BTCC lap record - International
In 2014, for just one year, the BTCC used the International circuit at Oulton Park rather than the usual Island circuit.
The BTCC lap record at the International circuit is 1:43.005 set by Colin Turkington driving a Team BMW 125i.
The fastest overall lap of the Oulton Park International circuit is 1:42.31 set by Colin Turkington during qualifying.
Oulton Park Island lap record
The overall lap record on the Oulton Park Island circuit is 1:18.556 set by Tom Blomqvist in 2010 racing in the Formula Renault 2.0 championship.
The fastest ever lap time on the Oulton Park Island circuit is 1:17.964 set by Dean Smith in 2009 during qualifying for a Formula Renault 2.0 round.
BTCC lap record - Island
The official BTCC lap record at Oulton Park Island is 1:26.026 set by Tom Ingram during race 3 of the 2021 event, driving his Hyundai i30N.
The fastest ever BTCC lap time at Oulton Park Island is 1:25.468 set by Tom Ingram in 2022 during qualifying driving the Hyundai i30N.
Porsche Carrera Cup GB lap record - Island
The official Porsche Carrera Cup GB lap record at Oulton Park island circuit is 1:21.50 set by Will Martin during a race in 2022, driving the 992 model of Porsche 911 cup car.
The fastest ever Carrera Cup GB lap time of Oulton Park Island is 1:20.371 set by Kiern Jewiss during qualifying in 2022.
British F4 lap record - Island
The British F4 lap record at Oulton Park Island circuit is 1:20.473 set by Alex Dunne driving for HiTech GP in the first race of the 2022 event. This lap time is also the quickest recorded lap for this series, quicker than any qualifying time.
TCR UK lap record - Island
The TCR UK series has also raced on the Island layout at Oulton Park. The official TCR UK lap record at Oulton Park Island is 1:27.728 set by Alex Ley in 2022 whilst racing a Hyundai i30N TCR.

Time Attack UK lap record - Island
The overall Time Attack lap record at Oulton Park Island circuit is 1:21.004 set during practice for the 2015 event, driving a highly tuned Mitsubishi Evo 6.
In 2022 Jimmy Broadbent, the Youtuber and semi-professional racing driver entered the Time Attack series at Oulton Park driving a Praga R1T. His best lap time was a 1:22.017, one second slower than the Evo 6 lap time.
Oulton Park Fosters lap record
The official lap record for the Oulton Park Fosters circuit is 50.079 set by Luca Riccitelli in 1996, driving a Reynard 94D in the Formula 3000 race.
Oulton Park top speed
The top speed recorded at Oulton Park is 160.9mph set by Glenn Irwin during the British Superbikes official test day in 2021. He was riding his Honda Racing superbike and the speed was recorded as he passed over the Intermediate 1 split at Oulton Park International.
This split, I1, is about half way along the Lakeside straight after Cascades, adjacent to the Oulton Park campsite. It’s set a little way back from the start of the braking zone for Island Bend so it’s likely they would have gone an extra few mph faster before hitting the brakes.
The top speed recorded by a car at Oulton Park is 142.4mph, set by Gareth Lloyd driving his highly tuned Mitsubishi Evo 6 during the Time Attack series in 2015. This was also recorded as he went over the first sector split.
For reference, in 2022 the fastest BTCC car’s speed at the same point on the circuit was 124.7mph, so the Evo has some serious power to be doing almost 20mph more.
