Marina Bay Grandstand location
The Marina Bay grandstand is on the outside (right-hand side) of turns 18 and 19 of the Singapore GP track layout, the final two corners on the circuit.
This grandstand is new for 2025. Previously there was a very popular Premier Walkabout viewing platform here, but this year they’ve turned it in to a ticketed grandstand instead to earn a few more $$.
Zone
The grandstand is in Zone 1 of the Marina Bay Circuit Park, which means you get full access to walkabout areas in all zones (1, 2, 3 and 4) around the circuit in addition to your seat in the grandstand.
Marina Bay Grandstand details
Cover
This grandstand is completely uncovered and is exposed to the weather.
The Singapore Grand Prix is a night race but some of the earlier practice sessions take place at dusk, so it could be hotter then. It will be very humid all the time and there’s always a decent chance of it raining. Check out my guide on what to wear to the Singapore GP for some more info.
Seats
The seats are individual chairs with folding seat bases.
TV screens
There’s one large TV across the track directly opposite this stand that will be easily viewable.
Marina Bay Grandstand F1 tickets
Tickets for the Marina Bay grandstand sold out quickly on the official site. So instead I’d recommend buying tickets through StubHub instead, where there’s always lots available, even right up until race day. Sometimes you can find them cheaper as well, plus there are lots of single-day ticket options available.
I’ve bought F1 tickets through StubHub lots of times over the last few seasons and have had a great experience dealing with them each time. Their FanProtect guarantee will keep your tickets and money safe too.
- Tickets include free rides on the Singapore Flyer observation wheel
Tickets include access to all Zones (1, 2, 3, 4), just like a Premier Walkabout ticket with the addition of a reserved seat in this grandstand. You can watch all of the Singapore F1 concerts in any zones with these tickets.
This is one of the more expensive Zone 1 grandstands.
Marina Bay Grandstand seating plan
Below is the seating plan for the Marina Bay Grandstand at the Singapore F1.
As the seating plan shows the grandstand is split in to three sections named A1 to A3. Section A1 is the closest to Turn 18 and Section A3 is the closest to the start / finish line.
Section A1 has 12 rows, A2 has 16 rows and A3 has 20 rows.
Seat numbers increase from right to left (if you’re standing on the track and look up at the stand). The seat numbers start from 1 at the beginning of each section. A1 is 16 seats wide, A2 is 24 seats wide and A3 is 20 seats wide.
Marina Bay Grandstand view
From the Marina Bay Grandstand you’ll be able to see the cars as they come along the straight towards Turn 18, past the Promenade and Skyline grandstand, watch them go around turns 18 and 19 then see them as they dissapear down the start / finish straight.
You’re also right opposite the pit lane entrance.
The image below shows the parts of the track visible from this stand highlighted in green:
As that image shows, you actually get to see the cars for a really long time from this stand as you get to watch them come towards you then away from you along two straights.
The video below shows the great expansive view from this grandstand, right opposite the Singapore Flyer, and how you are looking directly down both straights. Video credit Lucy Aitken:
This next video was filmed from slightly further left in the stand, in section A1, so has slightly less view of the start / finish straight. Video credit Ryan Kevinjay:
Here’s a couple of other videos of the view from this grandstand:
Best seats in the Marina Bay Grandstand
As the Marina Bay grandstand is new, it’s hard to say which seats will be best at the moment. However, I’d pick seats in the highest rows possible to get a better vantage point, and I’d hedge my bets and go for seats in the middle, section A2, to try and get the best view down both straights.
Is the Marina Bay Grandstand a good place to sit?
I think this will quickly become one of the most popular grandstands because of just how long you can see the cars for. Being able to see them come towards you, go around a couple of corners and then go all the way along the start / finish straight is unique,
These last two corners are very high speed, so whilst you won’t see much overtaking you will get to see the drivers cornering fast with their downforce pushing them in to the ground.
It’s also a place where drivers can make mistakes, as Lance Stroll did on this very corner in qualifying in 2023, ending up hitting the barriers hard. You would have had a perfect view for that.
Definitely one of the best grandstands at Singapore.
Nearest entrance & MRT station
Gate 8 ‘Helix’ is the nearest spectator entrance.
The nearest MRT station to Gate 8 is the Bayfront Station (CE1 / DT16). This is only a short walk away from the stand.
See my full guide to entrances & MRT stations at the Singapore GP for added information on how to get to the circuit.
