The Miami F1 Grand Prix takes place from Friday 3rd May to Sunday 5th May 2024. The race weekend features a sprint race.

2024 Miami Grand Prix dates

The 2024 Miami Grand Prix weekend starts on Friday the 3rd May and finishes on Sunday the 5th May.

The Miami GP takes place at Miami International Autodrome and is the 6th races of the 2024 season.

Miami Grand Prix race weekend format

The Miami F1 race weekend in 2024 features a sprint race. The format of F1 sessions across the weekend will look like the following:

Friday

  • First practice session (60 mins)
  • Sprint qualifying (45 mins)

Saturday

  • Sprint Race (100km)
  • Qualifying (Q1 / Q2 / Q3 – 60 mins)

Sunday

  • Race (57 laps or 120 mins)

2024 Miami F1 qualifying time

The main qualifying sessions for the 2024 Miami Grand Prix will take place on Saturday 4th May at 16:00 (4pm) local time and will last a total of 60 minutes.

Qualifying will be split in to three different sessions – Q1, Q2 and Q3.

All the drivers will take part in Q1. Then only the fastest 15 will progress to Q2. Next, only the top 10 fastest drivers from Q2 will move on to the final 10 minute shootout for pole position in Q3.

The 2024 Miami GP will start at 16:00 (4pm) local time on Sunday 5th May.

The Grand Prix will last for either 57 laps or 120 minutes, whichever is shorter.

What time is the Miami F1 race on TV?

The Miami Grand Prix starts at 16:00 local time (Eastern time) and will last for either 57 laps or 120 minutes, whichever is shorter.

What channel is the Miami GP on?

UK fans will be able to watch footage of the Miami Grand Prix live on the Sky Sports F1 channel, but you will need a paid subscription for that. If you have it, pre-race build up usually starts about 60 to 90 minutes before the start of the Grand Prix.

Highlights of the race will also be available for free on Channel 4  in the evening on Sunday 5th May.
