This is my review and spectator guide for grandstand 15 at the Mexican Formula 1 Grand Prix. Grandstand 15 is part of the awesome Foro Sol stadium (now called Estadio GNP Seguros) and the atmosphere here is fantastic.

Grandstand 15 Mexico GP location
Grandstand 15 (also known as Grada 15) is part of the Foro Sol stadium (now called Estadio GNP Seguros) at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, which the cars drive right through the middle of. Grandstand 15 is the norther half of the stadium, hence why it’s also known as Foro Sol Norte. When the F1’s not using the track the stadium is used for music concerts.
The grandstand overlooks turns 13, 14 and 15 which are the slowest corners at the circuit. You can also see a bit of Turn 12 from here – more on that in the View section lower down this page.
You won’t see much overtaking here, however, as the cars tend to go through these turns in single file. But it is where drivers will give pre-race interviews, also where the podium ceremony happens.
If you want an amazing atmosphere at the Mexican GP this is the place to sit.
TO access this grandstand you have to useentrance gate 1 and then take the pedestrian bridge over the track to the stands. It’s less 5 minute’s walk away from that gate to the stand.
If you’re using public transport, the best way to get here is to use Line 9 of the Metro and exit at the Velodromo station. It’s about a 10 minute walk from Velodromo station to Entrance Gate 1.
Zone
At the Mexican Grand Prix the circuit is split in to different zones, and you can only access the zone which your grandstand’s in.
Grandstand 15 is in Zone Cafe (Brown Zone). I’ve written a more comprehensive guide to the different zones to give you an idea of what they include. Check that out for more info.
Grandstand details
Cover
Grandstand 15 at the Mexican Grand Prix is partially covered. In 2024 they put a roof over the whole grandstand.
However, the roof doesn’t extend the whole way to front of the stand. It only covers the back half of the rows. But some parts of the stand will still be full shaded later in the day because of the way the stand is situated.
Sections NA17, NA19, NA21, NA23, NA25, NA27, NA29, VE17, VE19, VE21 and VE23, and the top few rows of GNP01, GNP03, GNP05, GNP07, GNP09, NA11, NA13 and NA15 are usually all in the shade by around 1pm. Everything else is in the sun all day long.
This is a bit of a disadvantage compared to Grandstand 14 opposite – because that faces North most of it is shaded much earlier.
Check out the seating chart lower down this page for more info on where those sections are.
Seats
Unfortunately in this grandstand you’re just sat on hard concrete steps. Bring something soft to sit on!
TV screens
There is one TV screen visible from this stand. It’s directly above the podium in between the Paddock Club buildings near Turn 13:
Mexico GP Grandstand 15 tickets
Because of the incredible atmosphere, this is one of the most popular stands to sit in at the Mexican F1. Tickets will sell out fast, but you can still buy tickets through ViaGoGo even when they are sold out elsewhere.
Plus you can go for single-day ticket options on ViaGoGo which are cheaper and give you more flexibility compared to the normal 3-day tickets. You could also pick different stands on different days if you wanted, by booking single-day tickets.
I have bought my Formula 1 tickets using ViaGoGo over the last few F1 seasons and have always had a great experience with their platform. I recently bought tickets to the Canadian and British Grand Prix using them and even managed to find them for less than the official cost.
They also have a good FanProtect Guarantee which is there to protect your tickets and money, which gives me a little extra peace of mind when booking.
Mexico Grandstand 15 seating plan
Below is the seating plan for Grandstand 15 at the Mexican Grand Prix:
As the seating chart shows Grandstand 15 is split in to a number of different sections. The VE sections are the Verde (green) lower sections and the NA sections are the Naranja (orange) upper sections. GNP sections are also higher-up sections.
Row numbers in the Verde sections start at Row 1 at the front and increase up to Row 14. The Naranja and GNP sections also start with Row 1 lowest down and increase up to Row 32 at the back.
Seat numbers go up from right to left as you sit in the stand. They begin at 1 in each section.
View
This image shows the parts of the circuit you can see from this stand:
As you can see from the image above your view of he circuit is pretty limited. All you can really see are turns 13, 14, 15, and if you sit in the sections on the right hand side of the seating chart above you can also see Turn 12. Turns 13, 14 and 15 are the slowest corners on the track. As I said before, not much overtaking happens here as cars just tend to follow each other through this part in single file.B
But you don’t sit in this grandstand for the best view of the circuit or to see overtaking. You choose this grandstand for the atmosphere.
Below are a some videos giving you an idea of what the views are like from this stand, and how the view changes depending where you sit. Bear in mind that some of the videos below were taken before 2024 and show the grandstand without the roof which it has now.
This video was filmed from Section VE 23, around Row 7, Seat 1. This section is right on the edge of the stand and is next to the track where it goes between the two halves of the Foro Sol grandstand. As you can see, if you get seat 1 in this section you can turn around and watch the cars go towards Turn 16 as they pass you:
This next video was filmed from Section NA17 Row 27 Seat 2. This is a very high seat and it gives a fantastic panoramic view looking down over the whole stadium section, and it’s just about far enough across to be able to catch a glimpse of Turn 12.
This next video was taken from Section NA 15, Row 1 Seat 10. Quite a lot lower down than the last video, but still a great view:
This next video was taken from Section VE 11 Row 13:
This next video was taken from Section GNP 05, around Row 20. You can see from here you also have a perfect view of the exit of Turn 12:
And finally this video was taken from Section GNP 01, around Row 15. This is as far to the left as you can get in the stand:
Best seats
If you want to be in the shade for as long as possible go for the sections that are closer to the track when it goes between the two halves of the Foro Sol Stand.
For the best view, you want to be in the sections which allow you to see Turn 12. Those would be GNP01, GNP03, GNP05, GNP07 and GNP09.
I’d always try and go for the highest row possible to get the best panoramic view of the stadium section.
Is this a good place to sit?
Sitting in this Grandstand 15 gives you the full Mexican Grand Prix experience. Like I said earlier you won’t see much overtaking, if any, but you will get to experience the incredible atmosphere and you’ll share it with the awesome, passionate Mexican fans.
