The Silver 4 Spa Francorchamps grandstand is the only one of the Silver seating areas that is covered.
It’s located near the Bruxelles / Rivage corner and gives fans a good view of the action from one of the highest points on the circuit.
The guide provides all the information you need to know if you’re considering buying seat tickets for Silver 4 at Spa, including example views, a seating plan and tips on how to get the best seats in the stand.

What is the Silver 4 grandstand at Spa?
The Silver 4 grandstand is a premium seating area that’s part of the Silver group of grandstands. The Silver stands are a little more affordable than the Gold grandstands at the Belgian Grand Prix as they usually offer a slightly less comprehensive viewpoint.
The Silver 4 grandstand at Spa Francorchamps is covered. It has a roof that goes over the top of the whole stand. It’s the only one of the Silver grandstands that has protection from the weather.
The Silver 4 grandstand can be seen at 58 seconds in the video below.
Silver 4 grandstand location
The Silver 4 grandstand is located on the outside of Turn 8 on the Spa Francorchamps Grand Prix circuit. Turn 8 is known as both Bruxelles and Rivage depending who you ask.
Bruxelles is a 180 degree right hander that drops downhill after the entry point. The grandstand is on the left-hand side of the circuit and is facing directly back towards the cars as they brake for the entry of the corner.
It’s not in the centre of the corner, more towards the right hand side (as you sit in the stand and look at the track).
The image below was taken from the YouTube video above and shows the view from behind the stand.
There’s a small bank behind the safety fence which the grandstand is built on, so it has a slightly elevated view. This is also the highest point of the circuit so you get a real sense of the elevation change as the circuit drops down after Bruxelles.
The grandstand is right next to the green camping area and there’s a large selection of food and drinks stalls directly behind it.
Silver 4 tickets
Silver 4 tickets will get you a reserved seat in the grandstand and access to all the general admission areas. But they can sell out fast on the official site.
So I’d recommend buying tickets through ViaGoGo instead. You’ll often find them cheaper than list price there, plus, there are lots of single-day ticket options too.
I’ve bought F1 tickets using ViaGoGo a number of times during the last couple of seasons, including for my visit to the Las Vegas race last year. I’ve always had a great experiences with them and will definitely be using them this season for more F1 tickets.
They also have a ‘FanProtect guarantee’ which makes sure your tickets and money are always safe and protected.
Grandstand details
Is it covered?
The Silver 4 grandstand is covered. It’s the only one of the Silver stands to have a roof. And its roof is much more effective than that on many of the covered Gold stands as it drops back down at the front so provides coverage for people sat in all rows.
If it’s really raining sideways and you’re in the front few rows you might still get a bit wet. As you might if you’re sat in the seats on the extreme ends of the stand as there’s no side covers.
Seat types
The seats in this grandstand are individual seats with fixed seat backs and seat bases.
TV screens
There’s one giant TV screen visible from this stand. It’s on the outside of the circuit just to the right of the track at the entry point to Rivage. It’s easily visible from all seats in the stand.
Silver 4 seating plan
Below is the seating plan for the Silver 4 grandstand at Spa showing the arrangement of the different sections within the stand.
There are three sections. A and C are the smallest and on either end of the stand. Section B is largest and in the middle.
Spa Francorchamps Silver 4 view
From wherever you sit in the Silver 4 stand you have the same view of the cars exiting Malmedy corner then heading directly towards you before they get on the brakes and enter Bruxelles. From there the cars will turn to their right and start to descend downhill.
The trees on the inside of Bruxelles will block your view any further once the cars exit the corner.
The map below shows the areas of the track that can be seen from the Silver 4 grandstand at Spa highlighted in pink.
The grandstand is tiered so the further back you sit the higher your view point. There’s a tall safety fence directly in front of this stand. It’s so tall you’ll end up looking through that from wherever you’re sat, even from the higher back rows.
If you sit on the extreme left hand side of section C (as you look at the circuit) and at the back of the stand you can also just catch a glimpse of the cars after they’ve exited Speed Corner. You can’t see the apex of Speed Corner from anywhere in the stand.
Skip to around 16:01 in the video below to see the view from this stand filmed from the right hand side of section A.
Tickets
Tickets for the Silver 4 grandstand can be purchased directly through the Spa Grand Prix website. A weekend ticket for this grandstand cost 395 Euros for the 2023 Belgian Grand Prix.
A ticket for this grandstand will get you entry to the circuit and all of the Bronze general admission areas around the track. It will also reserve you a specific seat in the stand that will be yours for however many days your tickets are valid. You cannot go in any other grandstands with these tickets.
Choosing your seat
You can’t select specific seats in any of the grandstand at Spa when booking your tickets through the official Spa GP website. All you can do is leave a request in the Notes box at the bottom of the purchasing page on the Spa website asking to sit in a specific area of the stand.

If I was choosing to sit in the Silver 4 grandstand I’d request seats in the back row on the left hand side of section B. The back row would give you a nice high vantage point and being on the left side of section B means you can see the cars a little longer as they exit Bruxelles. I wouldn’t ask to be on the end of the stand in section C as I’d be exposed to the weather if it rained heavily.
You may not get your request but it’s worth a try! Regardless you’ll be pre-assigned some specific seats in the weeks leading up to the race weekend.
Is the Silver 4 grandstand a good place to sit at Spa?
Silver 4 is the cheapest covered grandstand you can sit in at Spa Francorchamps. If having seats with weather protection is important to you then this is the most affordable way to get them.
I think it comes at the expense of a great view, however. Sitting here means you can see Bruxelles corner and not a lot else. There is occasionally some overtaking on the way in to this turn, but as it’s quite a slow corner you don’t even get to witness the F1 cars at high speed or peak downforce.
Silver 4 is the same price as the uncovered Silver 3 stand at the bottom of Eau Rouge. And that’s because from Silver 3 you have incredible views of the amazing Eau Rouge and Raidillon corners. So you need to consider what’s more important to you – a roof over your head or world class views?
If you’re in the green camping area for the weekend then the Silver 4 stand is just a stone’s throw away, so it’s a really convenient option for campers.
There’s also a big covered seating area and lots of food / drinks stalls directly behind this stand.
Nearest parking area
The nearest parking area to the Silver 4 grandstand at Spa is the Green parking area which is also a camping area. It’s directly to the right of the stand so is only a very short walk away.
Tickets for the parking can be purchased directly through the Spa Grand Prix website.
Nearest campsite
The Green Spa Francorchamps camping area is directly next to the Silver 4 grandstand. When you enter the track from the Les Combes entrance in the campsite it’s only a couple of minutes walk to the stand.
