Grandstand location at the Monaco circuit

Grandstand B is located on the outside (left-hand side) of Turn 4 on the Monaco circuit, directly opposite the world famous Casino de Monte-Carlo and next to the beautiful Hotel de Paris. It’s sometimes called the Casino Square grandstand because of its location.

Turn 4 is, unsurprisingly, called Casino. It comes after the high speed Turn 3 of Massenet and leads towards the incredibly tight right-hander of Mirabeau Haute.

The grandstand is perched right on the edge of the track and gives you views of the cars coming directly towards you. More info on the views further down this article.

Book Grandstand B Tickets

For its location in Casino Square and proximity to the track, this grandstand is one of the most popular at the Grand Prix. Tickets, especially for the Sunday, often sell out fast. Thursday and Friday tickets are cheap, and then they get more expensive on the weekend.

So, I would recommend you try and book your tickets through ViaGoGo instead. They will always have a good selection of tickets available, all the way up until race day. Plus you can often find them cheaper than the original list price near the event.

I’ve used ViaGoGo a number of times over the last couple of seasons for F1 ticket and have always have a great experience using them, plus I’ve bagged a couple of bargains. I’ll definitely be using them again for my next Formula 1 visit.

Plus, they have a robust Fan Protect policy which ensures you ticket and money are safe, for added peace of mind.

Grandstand details

Seats

The seats are individual plastic bases with no back rest. There’s a bit of space between but you’ll probably see be in very close contact wih your neighbour.

Grandstand B Monaco is completely uncovered and exposed to the elements. Make sure to bring suitable protection from the sun (or rain). If you want a covered reserved seat at the Monaco GP you need Grandstand T instead.

There’s one TV screen directly opposite this stand just the other side of the track. Easily viewable from all seats.

Amenities

There are toilets a short walk away from the grandstand, down towards Turn 5. There’s no food or drinks stall near the stand, but there’s a SPAR shop and a number of other mini-marts within a short walk from here.

Seating plan

Below is the seating plan for Grandstand B at the Monaco GP.

The seats are numbered 1 – 56, increasing from left to right as you stand on the track and look up at the grandstand.

The rows are lettered A – ZJ. A is the lowest row at the front and ZJ is the highest at the back. After row Z the rows are ZA, ZB etc all the way up to ZJ.

There are a few Gold rows at the front of the stand. These are more pricey, and I believe it’s just the front three rows (A, B and C) that are Gold. For the extra money you get an unrivalled close-up view of the cars and the track.

Views from the grandstand

This grandstand has incredibly picturesque, fantastic views of the Casino and Casino Square in Monte Carlo, with the sea visible just between the Casino and the Hotel de Paris.

The image below shows the sections of the circuit visible from this stand highlighted in pink.

As you can see, you only get to catch a quick glimpse of the cars as they come up through Massenet and turn right at Casino in front of you. You lose them out of sight quickly after that.

The video below was filmed from Row D, somewhere around seat 25.

4:03 onwards in this next video was filmed from higher in the stand, Row S seat 36.

And this next clip was filmed from the other side of the stand, Row V seat 9.

As you can see, your view of what is and isn’t visible doesn’t change much depending on where you sit. Everywhere in this stand has a nice clear view of Turns 3 and 4.

Best seats

In theory the Gold seats should be the best, putting you closer to the action. In addition, being in the little part of the stand at the front that sticks out, they should allow you to watch the F1 cars for a little longer as they disappear off to the left down the hill towards Turn 5.

But personally I wouldn’t pay the extra for the Gold ones. Instead, my preferred choice would be seat 56 (the end seat) in rows A to J. This is on the extreme edge of the stand meaning you can turn your head to the left to watch the cars go down the hill for longer, whilst still maintaining a great view of Turn 4 and the TV screen.
