Grandstand E location at the Monte Carlo Grand Prix
Grandstand E is located near turns 13 and 14 of the Monte Carlo circuit, which is known as the Piscine section. This is a fast left-right chicane where you really see the cars corner at high speed as they change direction.
This grandstand used to be called Grandstand M at the Monaco Grand Prix.
The grandstand is on the right hand side of the circuit, which is actually inside the track. It’s orientated so that it’s looking back up the track, towards turn 12. To the left of it is the much larger Grandstand K.
Monaco Grandstand Tickets
Tickets for the grandstand on the Monaca race weekend often sell out fast. This is only a small grandstand with not many seats, so it’s even harder to get tickets for it.
So if they’re sold out elsewhere I would recommend you book your tickets on ViaGoGo instead. They will have a good range of tickets for sale right up until race day on the Sunday. Plus you can often find them for less than list price as you get closer to race weekend. Friday tickets are the cheapest.
I’ve used ViaGoGo a number of times over the last few F1 seasons to buy tickets at the last minute, and have always had a great experience using them. Plus I’ve managed to get a couple of bargains by purchasing a week or two before the race. I will definitely use them again when I next visit an F1 race.
Additionally they have a very robust ‘FanProtect’ guarantee which will protect your money, which is great for extra peace of mind.
Grandstand details
Seats
The seats in this grandstand are bench style bleachers with no backrest. These can be quite uncomfortable so I’d always suggest bringing something soft to sit on, like a cushion.
Cover
This stand has no roof, so it’s open to the weather all day long. The stand is North facing so the large structure behind it, that you can see in the image below, will provide some shade in the middle of the day. But it’s likely to be in the sun in the morning and afternoon.
TV screens
There’s one TV visible from here, on the other side of the track at Turn 13.
Amenities
There are toilets right next to this stand and lots o food and drink stalls are only a short walk away.
Seating plan
Below is the seating plan for Grandstand E at the Monaco Grand Prix.
The seats are numbered 1 to 30 but the numbers increase from right to left (if you stand on the circuit and look up at the stand).
The rows are named with letters, starting at Row A down at the front increasing to K at the top.
Views
The image below shows the parts of the circuit visible from Grandstand E highlighted in pink.
From this grandstand, you’ll have a view of the cars as they exit Tabac (Turn 12) and as they enter the Piscine (Turn 13).
You’ll lose them out of sight to the right of this grandstand as they go through Turn 14, unless you’re sat in Seat 30 on the right hand edge where you can turn around and watch them pass you for longer.
The video below shows the view from Row K seat 15, back when it was called Grandstand M. It’s in the exact same location:
Best seats
The best seats in Monaco Grandstand E are those in rows H, J and K in seat number 30.
The higher rows give you a better overall view and if you can get seat 30 then you’re on the edge of the stand and can turn around to your right to watch the cars pass you.
If you can’t get seat 1 in any of those rows then don’t worry. If you’re in row M and above, all other seats up to about seat 40 will be great. I’d avoid getting a ticket for any seats higher than number 40 otherwise you run the risk of the bridge blocking your view of the pits.
This grandstand is accessed via entrance gate 7. For info on getting to Monaco for the Formula 1 weekend check out my full Monaco GP travel & transport guide.
