Grandstand E (Tribuna E) at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya offers great view of the first few corners of the track, if you pick the right seats.

Read my guide below for more information, tickets, and my advice on where to sit.

Grandstand location at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

Grandstand E at the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya sits on the outside (left-hand side) towards the end of the start finish straight, in the braking zone for the first corner.

The grandstand is in between Grandstand K (to its right) and Grandstand F (to its left).

The circuit is in the municipality of Montmelo, around 20km North of Barcelona, and it hosts both the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix and the MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix.

Formula 1 tickets

This grandstand is very popular as it has such great views, so tickets will often sell out fast.

But don’t worry, you’ll be able to buy tickets on ViaGoGo instead where you can often find them for sale right up until Sunday of the F1 weekend. Plus there will be a good selection of single day ticket options, and some of them may also be cheaper than the original price too.

MotoGP Catalunya tickets

As well as the F1, you’ll be able to buy MotoGP tickets on ViaGoGo as well right up until the last minute. Again there will be lots of 1-day tickets and you can find some bargains.

I’ve bought F1 and motorsport tickets a number of times from ViaGoGo, including when I went to the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, and have always had a great experience using their ticket platform. Plus their Fan Guarantee makes sure your money / tickets are safe which has always given me added peace of mind!

Seats

This grandstand has hard plastic seats with fixed seat backs and bases.

Cover

This grandstand has no cover. It’s completely exposed and open to th elements, so make sure you dress and prepare for the weather, both sun and rain.

The stand faces North West so the sun will be behind you for a lot of the day and make its way around to your left in the later afternoon.

TV screens

There is one TV screen visible from Tribuna E and it’s right in front of the stand:

If you’re sat on the right hand side of the stand as you look at the track, there’s a screen just off to the right hand side:

Seating plan

Below is the seating plan for Grandstand E at Circuit de Catalunya Barcelona.

As the seating plan shows the stand is split in to 9 different zones, Zone 1 – 9. Each zone is split in to an upper and lower section.

Rows go from F1 – F11 in the lower section and F12 – F22 in the upper section. F1 is the front row, F22 is the back.

Seats are numbered starting from 1 a the beginning of each zone. If you stood on the track and looked up at the stand the seat numbers would increase from left to right.

Each zone is roughly 16 seats wide.

Views from the grandstand

The image below shows the areas of the track visible from Tribuna E highlighted in pink.

As the image above shows, from this stand you’ll be able to see the cars or bikes coming directly past you from right to left along the start finish straight. That’s the braking zone for Turn 1.

You can then see them around Turns 1 and 2 and you’ll lose them out of sight as they enter Turn 3.

As a bonus, you can also see them on the circuit infield. You’ll have a view of them all the way from Turn 5 to the entrance of Turn 9. But the higher up your row, the better your view.

As an example, the video below was filmed from Zone 1 Row F22, the back row. This is the highest row you can get and as the video shows the high vantage point allows you to see all of Turns 1, 2 and 3, even from this zone which is the furthest to the right in the stand:

This next video was filmed from Zone 8 Row F11, and even though it was filmed from much lower in the stand than the first video, because it’s in a higher Zone closer to the first corner you can still see all of Turns 1, 2 and the start of 3. The view of the infield isn’t so good, however, as you can’t see anything after Turn 7:

This next video was filmed from Zone 6 Row F17:

And this video was filmed from Zone 3 Row F17, high enough to have a good view of the infield and just about a clear view of Turns 1 and 2:

Best seats in the grandstand

I’d suggest going for seats in the Upper section of Grandstand E to make sure you always have a view of the infield. If you can get seats in the top few rows then the Zone doesn’t matter too much.

If you can only get seats in the lower rows then go for the higher Zones (6, 7, 8 or 9) to stand a better chance of seeing the first three corners.

If you can get high seats then this is a really great value grandstand with awesome views, and I’d definitely pick this over the adjacent (and slightly higher priced) Grandstand F.
