Grandstand N view Circuit de Catalunya Barcelona

Grandstand N (Tribuna N) is a grandstand at the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya that provides views of the track around Turn 9.

Depending where you sit in this stand, your view of the track changes a lot. So read my guide below for my tips on the best seats to choose if you’re going for this grandstand.

Grandstand location at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

Grandstand N is located on the outside (left-hand side) of Turn 9 on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya which is used for the Spanish F1 GP and the MotoGP Catalunya.

The grandstand is made up of a number of different sections, but is split in to three ‘main’ sections that are all angled different aroudn the outside of the corner, as you can see on the image below:

Read on further for a full seating plan that shows which sections are which, plus examples of how your view changes from the different parts of this stand.

Formula 1 tickets

If you are looking for reserved seat tickets for this grandstand then I’d reccommend you buy tickets on ViaGoGo, which is what I do. They always have tickets available right up to the last minute on race weekend, and they’ve usually got lots of 1, 2 or 3-day options available. Plus you can often find them cheaper than the official list price.

MotoGP Catalunya tickets

If you’re going to the MotoGP at Calunya instead, then you can buy tickets for that on ViaGoGo as well:

I’ve used ViaGoGo to buy Formula 1 and other motorsport tickets numerous times, including for my trips to the Las Vegas GP and the Silverstone British Grand Prix. I’ve always had a great experience using them and will do so again next time.

They also have a ‘FanProtect’ guarantee which keeps your tickets and money safe, which is good for added peace of mind.

The seats in this grandstand are just hard fixed plastic chairs.

Cover

Tribuna N is completely uncovered, so make sure you bring protection from the sun. Depending which bit of the stand you’re in, you’ll either be facing East, South-East or South. So you’re likely to get sun shining on your for a lot of the day.

If you want a covered grandstand in a similar location then the adjacent Grandstand S has a cover over it.

TV screens

There’s one TV screen visible from this stand and it’s on the other side of the track on the inside of Turn 9. Easily visible from all seats.

Seating plan

Below is the seating plan for Grandstand N at Circuit de Catalunya Barcelona:

As the seating plan shows the grandstand is made up of a number of different zones.

Zones 25 to 29 have rows which start at Row F1 (front row) and go up to Row F12 (back row).

Zones 30 to 34 have rows which start at Row F1 and go up to Row F8.

Zones 35 to 38 have an upper and lower section. The lower section go from Row F1 to Row F8 and the upper section goes from Row F9 to Row F19 at the back.

Seat numbers start from 1 at the beginning of each zone, and the seat numbers increase from right to left if you’re sat in the stand looking at the circuit.

Views from the grandstand

The image below shows the areas of the track that you can see from Grandstand N highlighted in pink.

As the image above shows, from this grandstand you have a view of the cars leaving Turns 7 & 8, going through the fast right hander of Turn 9 and heading down the long straight towards Turn 10.

Where you sit in the stand will determine how much of that you can see, however. For example, if you sit in Zones 33 and above you won’t be able to see Turns 7 or 8.

Similarly, if you sit in Zones 25 – 27 or 34 – 38 you’ll have a limited view along the straight towards Turn 10.

Sitting towards the middle of the stand gives you a great balanced view of everything.

This video shows the view from Zone 32, Row F2 which is very central in the stand and has visibility both down towards Tuns 7 and 8 and along the straight towards Turn 10.

This next video was filmed from Zone 37 Row 8, much further to the left in the stand but the back row of the ‘lower’ section of this Zone. You can see that from here the view of the straight towards Turn 10 is very limited. A lower row would actually help that view slightly. There’s also no visibility of Turns 7 or 8:

This next video shows the view of the MotoGP from Zone 33 Row F1, with better visibility down towards Turn 10 and some visibility of the exit of Turn 8.

And finally this 360 degree image shows the amazing view from Zone 29 Row F12. This is the back row of this Zone and as you pan around the image you can see amazing vantage points of Turn 7, 8, 9 and the whole of the long straight down to Turn 10:

Best seats in the grandstand

The best seats in Grandstand N at Circuit de Barcelona Cataluyna are the back rows in Zones 28 and 29. These have amazing views of Turn 7, 8, 9 and the straight towards Turn 10. The back rows here give you a higher vantage point that improves everything.

If you end up with a seat in Zones 33 – 38 I’d actually recommend going for a lower row to try and improve your angle to see along the straight.
