Grandstand Tribuna L Catalunya Barcelona view

Grandstand L (Tribuna L) hase some amazing views of the first few corners and the infield section of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. It’s also covered, so it offers a great option if you’re looking for tickets for the Spanish F1 or MotoGP

Before booking you’ll want to know which areas of the grandstand to sit in, and which to avoid. So read my information below for everything you need to know.

Grandstand location at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

Grandstand L is on the inside of the circuit to the right-hand side of Turn 2. It sits on a mount between Turn 2 and Turn 5, and as you’ll see lower down, has great views of both the infield and outfield sections. In the image below the stand is pointing towards Turn 1.

It has Grandstand M just behind it and Grandstand A opposite it on the other side of the track on the outside of Turn 2.

The circuit’s also known as the Circuit Montmelo as it’s in the Montmelo province of Catalunya. It’s home to both the F1 Spanish Grand Prix and the MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix.

Formula 1 tickets

The views from this stand are pretty spectacular, and now that it’s also covered it can sell out fast due to popularity.

If you are looking for reserved seat tickets for this stand then you can do what I do and buy tickets on ViaGoGo instead. There you will find them for sale up until Sunday of the Formula 1 weekend. They’ll have a good selection of single day, two day and three-day ticket options, and you might be able to find a seat for less than the original price too.

MotoGP Catalunya tickets

You can also buy tickets for the MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix on ViaGoGo as well. Again, there will be numerous ticket options (1, 2, or 3-day) available right up until the last minute, and usually you can find yourself a bit of a bargain.

I’ve bought F1 and motorsport and tickets numerous times over the last few seasons using ViaGoGo, including when I visited Las Vegas for the F1. I’ve had no complaints using their service and would do so again. Plus their Fan Guarantee is very good and makes sure your money is safe; good for peace of mind!

Tickets on ViaGoGo sell fast so if your see ones you want, grab them whilst you can!

Cover

Tribuna L is covered with a roof for both the Formula 1 and MotoGP.

TV screens

There’s one TV screen visible from this stand. It’s on the other side of the circuit on the inside of Turn 5. It’s a little far away so a pair of binoculars may help.

Seating plan

Below is the seating plan for Grandstand L at Circuit de Catalunya Barcelona:

As the seating plan shows the grandstand is made up of four different zones. Zone one is closest to Turn 2 and Zone 4 is closest to Turn 5 on the infield.

Each zone is split in to upper and lower sections. The rows go from Row F1 (front) to Row F23 in the lower section, then Row F25 to Row F32 (back) in the upper section.

As you sit in the stand the seat numbers increase from right to left. They start at 1 at the beginning of each section.

Views from the grandstand

The image below shows the sections of the circuit visible from Grandstand L highlighted in pink:

As the image shows from this grandstand you have views of Turns 1, 2 and the start of Turn 3, and the infield section from the exit of Turn 4 down to Turn 7.

Your view does change depending on where you sit. If you sit in the back row (row 32) you get the bonus of being able to turn around and watch the cars go around the whole of Turn 3.

If you’d rather see a little more of the infield section down towards Turn 7 then getting reserved seats in the lower zones on the right side of the stand is better.

The video below show examples of the view from different areas. This first one was taken from Zone 2 Row F32, the back row. Watch as the camera pans round and has a great view of the cars as they go around the whole of turn 3 – something you can only see from the back row. This was filmed before the grandstand had a roof on it:

Then next video was filmed from a very similar position in this tribuna, in Zone 2 Row F30:

This next video was filmed from Zone 1 Row F17 seat 1, on the far right hand side of the stand:

This next clip was filmed from Zone 1 Row F1, far to the right of the stand in the front row. Being low down still gives you a good view of Turns 1 and 2, but you lose some visibility of the start / finish straight and the infield section:

Best seats in the grandstand

Being honest there’s not really a bad seat in this grandstand. But if it was me I’d definitely aim for seats in the back row to have the ability to stand up, turn around and watch the cars through Turn 3.

If you can’t manage that then just go for the highest seats possible in the upper section to get a wide vantage point. It doesn’t really matter which zone you’re in, the view is great from all of them!
