Grandstand G circuit de barcelona catalunya view

Grandstand G (Tribuna G) is the largest grandstand at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, and offers great views of the final few corners of the circuit.

Being such a big stand your view of the track changes depending where you sit. So below is my guide on picking the best seats in this stand, with examples of the different fews.

Grandstand location at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

Grandstand G is located on the outside (left-hand side) of the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya betweens Turn 12 and Turn 13. It’s directly adjacent to Grandstand B and Grandstand C.

The grandstand actually curves around Turn 12 before straightening out as it follows the circuit along to Turn 13.

The Circuit de Barcelona in the Montmelo municipality hosts the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix and the MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix, and this grand stand is a permanent fixture available for both events.

Formula 1 tickets

Even though this is a massive grandstand, it’s very popular because it’s one of the cheapest places to sit at the F1, so tickets can sell out.

If you’re trying to find some reserved seat tickets for Grandstand G then I would recommend you buy your tickets on ViaGoGo, which is what I do when I go to a Formula 1 race.

ViaGoGo always has a good supply of tickets available up until the last minute during the race weekend. They have usually got lots of one, two or three day ticket options available, plus you can often find them for cheaper than the official listed price.

MotoGP Catalunya tickets

ViaGoGo also offer a great selection of tickets for the MotoGP Cataluyna, again with single day options and a few bargains.

I’ve used ViaGoGo to buy Formula One and other motorsport tickets numerous times, including for my trip to the British GP and the Las Vegas GP, and have always had a great experience using their purchasing platform.

They’ve also got a robust FanProtect guarantee that gives me added peace of mind that my tickets and money are safe.

Seats

The seats in this stand are solid plastic chairs.

Cover

Tribuna G is completely uncovered, so make sure you’re protected from the sun. Depending which zone you sit in you’ll be facing somewhere between East and South, so you’ll be likely to have the sun on you for a lot of the day.

TV screens

There are two TV screens that you can see from this stand. There both across two parts of the infield, close to Turn 10. They can feel a little far away so a pair of binoculars definitely helps!

Seating plan

Below is the Grandstand G seating plan at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The seating plan shows that Grandstand G is made up of 24 different zones. Each Zone has an upper and a lower section.

The rows of seats in the lower section go from Row F1 (front row) to Row F12. The upper section has rows from Row F13 to Row F24 (back row).

The seat numbers start from 1 at the beginning of each Zone, and increase from left to right (if you stood on the track and looked up at the stand).

Views from the grandstand

This image shows the parts of the circuit visible from this grandstand highlighted in pink:

Depending which zone you sit in, your view of the track changes. Here are some video examples filmed from different locations.

This first video is filmed from Zone 24 Row F24 during the MotoGP. It’s the back row of the zone closest to Turn 13:

This first video is filmed from Zone 20 Row F24 (back row):

This next video was filmed from Zone 17 Row F20:

This next video was filmed from Zone 15 Row F3:

The start of this video was filmed from Zone 8 row F24 (back row):

And finally this video was filmed from Zone 2 Row F20:

Don’t forget that some of the older videos above show a chicane being used at Turn 13 for the Formula 1. That has now been replaced by the fast sweeping right-hander.

Best seats in the grandstand

All seats in this grandstand are pretty good, but as you can see above the higher you go the better your view. If possible go for seats in the back couple of rows.

I’d chose zones in the middle of the stand, around Zone 10 – Zone 20, but if you wanted to see more of Turn 13 then go for the highest few Zones.
