Grandstand H Circuit de Catalunya: Views, Tickets, Best Seats

View from Grandstand H at the Spanish F1 Grand Prix

Grandstand H (Tribuna H) is a covered grandstand that offers amazing views of the final corner on the F1 circuit, plus good visibility of the last few turns on the ‘infield’ section of the track.

But how much you can see of some of those corners changes massively depending on which seats in this grandstand you go for, so read my guide below for my tips on where tickets to pick.

Grandstand location at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

Grandstand H is located on the outside (left-hand side) of Turn 14, the final corner on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

It’s directly opposite the entrance to the pit lane and is also adjacent to the Garden Village VIP hospitality suite.

The Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya in the Montmelo district hosts both the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix and the MotoGP Cataluyna Grand Prix, and this grand stand is available for both.

Formula 1 tickets

This is one of the most expensive granstands at the Barcelona circuit for the F1. Despite that, because it’s the only covered grandstand that offers views of the final few turns on the circuit, it often sells out quickly.

If you’re trying to find some reserved seat tickets for this grandstand then I would recommend you buy your tickets on ViaGoGo, which is what I do when I visit the F1.

ViaGoGo always have a good supply of tickets available right up until the last minute on the race weekend. They have usually got lots of 1, 2 or 3 day ticket options available as well, plus you can often find them cheaper than the official list price.

MotoGP Catalunya tickets

If you’re planning on going to the MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix then you can find a good selection of tickets for that event on ViaGoGo too.

I’ve used ViaGoGo to purchase F1 and motorsport tickets numerous times, including for my trips to the British GP at Silverstone and the Las Vegas GP, and have always had a great experience using them.

They’ve also got a pretty robust FanProtect guarantee for added peace of mind, which keeps your tickets and money safe.

Cover

Tribuna H is covered for both the MotoGP and Spanish F1 race. The cover is quite high over the front of the grandstand, and as it faces South-West then those sat in the front few rows are likely to be in the sun in the mid to late afternoon.

TV screens

There’s one screen visible from this grandstand just across the track, directly in front of the stand. Easily viewable from all seats.

Seating plan

Below is the seating plan for Grandstand H at Circuit de Catalunya Barcelona:

The seating plan above shows the grandstand is made up of 11 different zones, named Zone 1 – Zone 11.

Each zone has 13 rows of seats that start from Row F1 lowest down at the front and go up to Row F13 highest up at the back.

The seat numbers start from 1 at the beginning of each zone and increase from right to left when you’re sat in the stand looking down at the track.

Which Zone you select does affect your view. See the next section for details.

Views from the grandstand

The image below shows the parts of the race circuit visible from Tribuna H highlighted in pink:

However, there are two things to consider here. Firstly, how much you can see of Turn 12 depends on which row you sit in. If you’re in the front few rows in the higher zones then you won’t be able to see it. The back few rows in the lower zones will have a good view.

Secondly, and more importantly, only the seats in Zone 1 to Zone 5 will have a view of the apex of Turn 10. Zones 6 – 11 will have their view of that corner blocked by the trees and the TV screen on the inside of the circuit, as shown in the red box in the image below.

Turn 10 is a decent overtaking spot so you definitely want a seat that gives you a view of that corner.

As an example, this video was filmed from Zone 9 Row F1, and the view of Turn 10 and even most of Turn 11 is completely blocked by the trees:

In contract, this next video was filmed from Zone 4 Row F13 (back row), and you can see Turn 10 because of the lower Zone number and most of turn 12 because of the high row number:

This next clip was filmed from Zone 3 Row F1 (front row) and again we can see Turn 10, but because we’re in the lowest row we can’t quite see the cars at Turn 12:

The grandstand was moved at the end of 2017 (it used to be closer to Turn 13) so any videos from then or before are inaccurate. The videos above are all filmed from the stand’s current (new) location.

Best seats in the grandstand

The best seats in Grandstand H are those in the highest rows of Zones 1 – 5. Those zones will give you a view of the popular overtaking spot at Turn 10, plus the highest rows will allow you to see the cars as they go around Turn 12.
