Grandstand M (Tribuna M) is a covered grandstand that offers nice view of a couple of corners, although where you sit in this stand will determine how good you view is.
Plus there’s other grandstand options that offer better vantange points. Read my guide below for everything you need to know before booking.

Grandstand location at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
Grandstand M is located on the inside of the circuit. It sits just to the outside of Turn 5 (right-hand side of the track).
It has Grandstand L just in front of it to its right, which can offer slightly better views. Read on for more info.
The race track is also known as the Circuito Montmelo as it’s in the Montmelo area of Catalunya. It is home to the Spanish F1 GP and the MotoGP Catalunya Grand Prix, the two biggest events on the track’s calendar.
Buy Grandstand M tickets for the F1 and MotoGP
Formula 1 tickets
The views from this stand are good, plus it’s covered. Those things combined mean tickets for this stand can be hard to find.
If you are still looking for reserved seat tickets for this grandstand then you can do what I do and buy tickets on ViaGoGo instead. On there you’ll find them for sale right up to the Sunday of the Formula 1 weekend. They always have a selection of single day, two day and three-day tickets, and you might be able to find yourself some seats for less than the original price too.
MotoGP Catalunya tickets
If you’re going to the MotoGP then you can buy tickets for that on ViaGoGo as well. Again they’ll be available right up to the last moment.
I’ve used ViaGoGo to buy Formula 1 and Motorsport tickets a number of times over the last few years and have always had a great experience. I used them for my trip to the Las Vegas GP and had a great time.
They also have a FanProtect guarantee which provides extra peace of mind by assuring your tickets and money are safe.
Grandstand details
Seats
This grandstand has hard plastic seats with a fixed back and fixed base.

Cover
Tribuna M is covered for both the Spanish F1 and the MotoGP with a large roof that covers all seats.

The grandstand faces South-East so if you’re in the front 5 or 6 rows you can still expect to be in the sun in the earlier parts of the day as the roof is quite high over the front, as you can see in this image:

TV screens
There’s just one TV screen visible from this stand on the inside of Turn 15. It’s fairly close and easy to see from all seats.

Seating plan
Below is the seating plan for Grandstand M at Circuit de Catalunya Barcelona:
This is a temporary grandstand that’s put up and taken down for the big events like the F1 and MotoGP. At those two events the stand is a different size.
For the Formula 1 Spanish GP, the grandstand is made up of the two seperate sections which are named Zone 5 to Zone 13, as can be seen on the seat plan above, and in the image below (expect there will be a roof over it).

For the MotoGP the grandstand is slightly smaller and only the section with Zones 5 – 10 will be present:

Regardless of which event you’re at, each zone of the grandstand is made up of an upper and a lower section.
The lower section has rows which go from Row F1 (front row) to Row F13. The lower section has rows that go from Row F14 to Row F26 (back row).
Seats numbers start from 1 at the beginning of each zone and increase from right to left (if you stand on the track and look up at the stand).
Views from the grandstand
The image below shows the parts of the circuit visible from this grandstand highlighted in pink:
As the image above shows, from this stand the main part of your view is the exit of Turn 4 and all of Turn 5, the sweeping downhill left hander.
If you sit high enough you can also see the end of the main straight and Turn 1 where you might just catch some of the first corner action.
The further right in the stand you sit (the higher your Zone) then the more you see of the downhill section towards Turn 6. You’ll also see a bit more of Turn 1 from the higher Zones.
The video below show the examples of the views from different seats. This first video was filmed from Zone 13 Row F17 Seat 1, the furthest Zone to the right.
In the video above you can see how being in Zone 13 allows for a view of the first corner where George Russell puts an awesome move around the outside on Lando and Max to lead the 2024 Spanish F1.
It also has a great view of the exit of Turn 4, perfect view of Turn 5 and a better view down towards Turn 6 being in the further Zone to the right.
The only way that view could be improved would be if it was from a slightly higher row, which would allow for more visibility of Turn 1 leading to Turn 2.
And that’s where the next video was filmed from. It was taken from Zone 13 Row F25 Seat 1, one row from the back. You can see that the slightly higher vantage point now allows you to see the inside apex kerb for Turn 2.
Another bonus is if you can get a seat in the back row you can turn around and watch the cars or bikes go all the way around the high-speed Turn 3, just like in this next video. This was filmed from Zone 13 Row F26:
This next video was filmed from Zone 5 Row F26, the furthest Zone to the left in the back row. This shows what the view’s like from the other end of the stand. You can see that you still have visibility of Turn 1 (but you wouldn’t from the lower rows in this stand), but you lose the cars out of sight after they’ve left Turn 5 much sooner. You can’t see anything of Turn 6:
Best seats in the grandstand
I’d try and get reseved seats in the higher Zones – 11, 12 or 13 for the F1 or 9 for the MotoGP – in the highest row possible.
The higher Zone numbers give you a better view down towards Turn 6 plus more visibility of Turn 1. The higher rows also allow you to see more of Turn 1, plus make sure you’re out of the sun. If you can go for the back row so you can turn around to see Turn 3.
